My 2018 Skincare Favourites

Over the last few weeks I've been awol from the blog, making the most of what was left of the festive season, spending time with my family. It's been hectic to say the least. As well as Christmas, there was Alfie's birthday(he turned 4) and within a couple of days we celebrated the New Year! How has it all gone by so fast? The last few weeks have been a blur, but it's been wonderful nonetheless. Last year wasn't the best year, though it wasn't all bad. I have many good memories which I will cherish. The highlight of 2018 was of course having my beautiful baby Oscar. He had quite the entrance into the world(read my birth story here).

In 2018 I didn't blog as much as I wanted to, but this year I want that to change. I wasn't so motivated last year as there were so many things going on and I just didn't have my head in it.

Now it's the New Year, it's only fitting that I start off with my 2018 Beauty Favourites. As always, I will split it into different categories; Skincare, Makeup etc, and today I'm starting off with Skincare. I believe 2018 was the year of Skincare. I discovered so many incredible skincare products, all of which have become staples within my skincare routine.
2018 Skincare Favourites
Pixi Beauty has been one of my favourite skincare brands for a while now. When they released the Pixi Rose Tonic(£10) I was absolutely ecstatic, especially as I love the Glow Tonic so much. I decided upon getting the miniature sized Rose Tonic to determine whether my skin would like it or not, and luckily it did. I use this every am and pm after cleansing and it does a great job at soothing my skin and minimising any redness. I shall be investing in the full size soon as I've recently finished the bottle.

I tried many different cleansers last year and there were two that stood out to me. Sadly I recently ran out of one of them so it's not featured within the photo but it's the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser(£7.99). It removes makeup easily, refreshes and locks in moisture to my skin. It's wonderful. The second cleanser that I was loving in 2018 is the Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel(£12 £8) It's suited towards those with acne prone and oily skin. I don't get many spots now, and I feel like this cleanser may have helped towards that. It has 0.5% salicylic acid to ensure that all oil and grime is removed from your skin, but without stripping it.

I was introduced to the brand NIA(Not into Aging) last year and I fell in love with one particular product of theirs, the *Fully Charged Serum x Moisturizer(£33) I used it almost every single day for months. It made my skin feel incredible, and my makeup applied so smoothly on top of it. If you'd like to know more you can read my full review here.

After I gave birth in June my skin was an absolute nightmare. Just a few weeks after having Oscar I had the implant inserted which made my skin spiral out of control. My hormones were all over the place which caused me to experience some nasty breakouts. I went out looking for something to rid myself of them pesky spots, and I did, luckily. I came across the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion(£16). I have been an avid user of this for months, applying it nightly before bed. It's worked wonders for my skin. I don't want to say too much as I will have a review up on it soon, but it's a miracle worker.

And lastly is the Garnier Moisture Bomb Glow Booster Day Moisturiser(£7.99). I was using this all year round and I'm just finishing up the tub now. I have to admit I bought it purely for the beautiful scent and the 'glow boosting' aspect. It was one of my favourite purchases of the year. It's a very lightweight moisturiser which makes my skin look healthy and glowy and it completely packs my skin with hydration. It's so lovely and refreshing too.

And that's all my Skincare Favourites from 2018. There were plenty more products I enjoyed but I couldn't possibly fit them all into one post. Coming very soon are my 2018 Makeup Favourites!

What were your favourite skincare products of 2018? I'd love to know!
