My 2018 Makeup Favourites

A few days ago I started off part one of my 2018 Beauty Favourites instalment. Over the next week or so I will be writing all about my favourite Skincare, Makeup, Body and Hair Products of 2018. In part one I talked all about my 2018 Skincare Favourites(which you can read all about here), but today I will be telling you all about my favourite Makeup products.

Last year I indulged in a few too many new makeup products, and yes, part of me feels slightly ashamed, but the other part of me is extremely happy, especially as some of those have quickly become must haves in my makeup routine.

There were many products that I wanted to feature here but I managed to whittle it down to 8 products. Most of these were featured heavily in my makeup bag in 2018, and others were late entries, with me using them multiple times during the last few months of the year.
My 2018 Makeup Favourites
First up is the Benefit Hoola Bronzer(£26). I have used this particular bronzer on and off for years, however for a year or so it was sat in my makeup drawers feeling unloved. On a mission to save the pennies, and stop buying more makeup I don't really need, I decided to shop my makeup stash(read my post on that here) and use up some of my old favourite products. I was using this for the most part at the end of the year, but I've really rekindled my love for it. It warms up my complexion and defines the cheekbones and the shade is literally perfect for my skin tone. If there was any bronzer that was made for me, it's this.

On Christmas Day 2017 my fiancee Josh kindly gifted me the Too Faced Hangover Face Primer(£27). I'd wanted it for the longest time, and I wasn't disappointed by it in the slightest. I loved it from the very first time I tried it. It hydrates, makes my skin look very healthy and it has a tackiness to it which makes my foundation stay in place for hours. I honestly swear by this. A year later I still haven't ran out. That's not too bad for a face primer is it?

Later in the year I kindly received the *Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette(£42). From the very first moment I swatched it, I knew that I'd love it. I've been using it for months now, almost daily. There are many beautiful shades in the palette, ranging from a deep mauve to a dark, shimmery burgundy. There isn't a single shade within the palette that I dislike. I am completely obsessed.

I haven't used a single makeup brush to apply my foundation for over a year now thanks to the BeautyBlender(£17). I use it damp, and it blends my foundation in evenly, without any streaking, leaving me with a flawless canvas for a face. I have a few of these in my makeup drawers, in fear of ever losing one. This one is the pink swirl BeautyBlender, but it's not available to buy any longer, however there is a new pretty design out for this year which is the Electric Violet Swirl BeautyBlender. I have my eye on it! £17 may seem like a lot to spend on a makeup sponge but without this, my foundation would look like a complete and utter mess.
My 2018 Makeup Favourites
I haven't quite mastered the art of applying fake lashes just yet, so for now, I have to stick to the good old mascara. I tried out many different mascaras last year but my favourite of them all was the *Ardell Top and Bottom Precision Mascara(£11.95). I mainly love this for the bottom half of the mascara, purely because the wand is so small it grabs onto every single lash on the lower lash line without clumping or smudging. I've used it every single time I've done my makeup. I'm actually quite worried I'll end up running out of it soon.

My favourite makeup discovery of 2018 is the Ofra Highlighter in Glazed Donut(£25). It is a pearly white highlighter, and it has the most wonderful formula. It's powdery, but soft to the touch, and boy does it make your skin glow. I have had so many compliments when I've worn it. In fact I remember when I wore this for the first time on a shopping trip with my sister and she mentioned to me that someone said 'woah look at her highlight', pointing at me. That actually made my day, believe it or not. I cannot stop wearing it still to this day, and I've been using it for nearly a year now. Ofra highlighters are the best that I've tried by far.

As well as mascara I tried a lot of different Concealers out last year too, but there was only one that really stood out to me, and that was the Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer(£4). This was dubbed as a dupe for the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer early on after it's release and as always curiosity got the best of me, and I purchased it, and my god I'm glad I did. It has such great coverage and the formula and consistency of it is wonderful too. It's not too thick, nor thin and it blends in like a dream. At £4 it's bloomin' good.

And the last of my Makeup Favourites is a lip product- the L'Oreal Paris Les Chocolats Liquid Lipstick in Candy Man(£8.99). This was my most worn lip colour of 2018. I worn it on a daily basis for months without switching it up. It is the most perfect pinky-mauve nude shade. Of course there's the fact that it smells of chocolate too!

And there we have it... My 2018 Makeup Favourites.
