Last Minute Beauty Christmas Stocking Fillers 2019

It's around that time now where people are running around the shops and scrolling online trying to find last minute gifts for their loved ones this Christmas. I have to put my hand up and admit that I'm one of those people. I was hoping to be more organised this year, but apparently that's not the case. Most of the presents for the boys are all bought and wrapped now- just a few more to go and then we're finished.

Beauty Christmas Gift Guide for Her 2019

It is finally December and Christmas festivities are in full swing. For the last few days I've been spending what little time I have wrapping up presents with Christmas music blaring out loud in the background to get me in the Christmas spirit. I just love the lead up to Christmas Day don't you? Unfortunately I haven't finished all of my Christmas shopping yet though. It can be quite overwhelming. We've bought little bits and pieces here and there over the last few months to make it more manageable.

Now every year(well almost!) I put together a few Christmas Gift Guides to give you a helping hand if you're struggling for ideas. I for one know how difficult it can be to find the perfect gift for someone, whether it's your mum, dad, sister or other half. Today I've put together a Christmas Gift Guide for those beauty addicts in your life. Maybe it'll give you inspiration too, and perhaps you'll add a gift or two to your Christmas list.

Sara Miller London Chelsea Advent Calendar

Is it just me or is the lead up to Christmas just as exciting as Christmas Day itself? Binge watching Christmas movies as a family, eating all the festive treats and sweets, going to christmas markets, christmas present shopping and opening up your advent calendar. There is so much fun to be had. Have I missed anything?

For me an advent calendar is a must every Christmas. Opening up a new door on my advent calendar to unveil a surprise each day of December until Christmas Day fills me with so much excitement, even at the age of 25. It makes the build up to Christmas even more exciting. Age is just a number. You're never too old to have an advent calendar. Each year I buy myself, Josh and the boys an advent calendar each without fail. Well, the boys end up being treated to two each year. The boys always have a toy advent calendar(either duplo or lego) and a chocolate calendar. Just seeing their eyes light up every morning after opening their advent calendars melt my heart. They are always filled with so much happiness and joy. It reminds me of what I was like as a child. It's so heartwarming.

The Perfect Soft Drink for Summer | J20 Spritz

It's officially Summer which means it's time to soak up the sun, top up your tan and gather together with your family and friends. It's one of my favourite seasons. Speaking of family gatherings, they're very rare with my family nowadays as everyone is growing up, having kids, moving, starting new jobs or getting married. Everyone seems to have grown apart and gone their separate ways. It's a little sad but it happens. It just makes it all the more special when we all get back together again.

Primark PS Summer Blur Soft Focus Blur Primer

I absolutely love makeup primers. Without a primer my makeup just doesn't sit well or last for a long period of time. They are absolutely necessary for me, but some can be a hit and miss. I have tried many different primers over the last couple of years, from silicon based primers to hydrating primers, glow giving primers, pore filling primers and so much more.

I always sway towards higher end primers over drugstore primers. The Too Faced Hangover Primer was my go to for well over a year until I finished it up, but instead of repurchasing it I decided it was time to try something new, and preferably cheaper. Over the last few months I've purchased my fair share of primers. Just last month I shared one of those with you (the Primark PS Prep and Perfect Glow Iridiscent Elixir). It was my absolute favourite primer to use up until a month or so ago when I purchased the Primark PS Summer Blur Soft Focus Blur Primer(£5).

June Beauty Favourites 2019

I find it so crazy how we are already in July. Where did those last couple of months go? June was such a busy month. It was Oscars first birthday at the start of the month, then it was my brothers 21st and then Harrison's second birthday just days later. I barely had time to take blog photos or write up a post so my blog took a backseat until everything had calmed down. Of course I had to get through the entire new season of Stranger Things before I got back to it too. SPOILER: It's so friggin' good! A must watch.
Anyway, without further ado, let's get to what beauty products I was loving in June shall we?

Urban Decay All Nighter Summer Solstice Setting Spray

For the past couple of years the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray has been my go to Setting Spray. I've been through countless bottles of the stuff and I absolutely love it. It's never failed me. You can imagine my excitement when it was revealed that Urban Decay was releasing a brand new All Nighter Setting Spray in a scented version. Now, I am a complete sucker for a fragranced product, especially if it's a setting spray or facial mist.

How I Control My Frizzy Hair | Shea Moisture Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Hair Collection

My hair can be a little tough to maintain at times but with a little help from the Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Hair Collection from Shea Moisture my hair seems to be much more manageable. I've previously tried the Argan Oil and Almond Milk Smooth and Tame Shampoo and Conditioner from the brand and I really loved them so I was really keen to try more.

The Shea Moisture Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Hair Collection is especially for those with Fine, Wavy, Curly Hair. My hair is quite fine but in no way wavy or curly, but the reason I decided to try this range was purely because it claims to be weightless and controls frizz.

A Big Beauty Haul

It's been a while since me and Josh took some time away from the boys, and we did just that last weekend when we went shopping in Exeter. It's around an hour away by train from where we live locally and there are bigger and better shops and restaurants there which I love. We were in Exeter for a couple of hours. We grabbed some food and we shopped until we dropped. I did buy a few home and clothing pieces but I thought I'd show you all the beauty bits that I picked up on the trip instead.

It's been a while since I posted a haul. I posted a Mini Revolution Haul early last year but there's been nothing since then. The very last time I posted a big haul like this was back in 2017 when I shared my High End Beauty Haul with you.
I had a few things in mind already that I wanted to purchase while we were there. In fact I had a list of products labelled under 'Wishlist' on my phone so I didn't forget anything.

Just when I thought The Wet Brush was the be all and end all, the Hair Secretz Hair Podz Diamond Edition 2 in 1 Brush & Mirror came into my life and everything soon changed. Beforehand I had never heard of Hair Secretz. They are a brand which produces some of the most innovative hair products, one of which is this beautiful Diamond Brush.

The Most Blinding Highlighter? | Ofra x Nikkie Tutorials Glazed Donut Highlighter

One of my weaknesses is highlighter. I can't do a full face of makeup without it. It takes my complexion from dull to glowy in seconds. I have many highlighters in my makeup collection in a variety of shades and formulas from the drugstore to high end. It's actually quite disturbing just how many I own. Despite having so many highlighters there's only one that I've been using persistently for the past year, the Ofra Cosmetics Glazed Donut Highlighter.

Pixi Vitamin Wakeup Mist

The Pixi Glow Tonic is the cult favourite that kickstarted my obsession with Pixi Skincare. I have been through so many bottles of the stuff, it's ridiculous. I always make sure I'm stocked up on it. I now have many of their mists and tonics in my skincare collection, and there's not a single product of theirs that I've tried that I dislike. Speaking of mists, Pixi currently have a total of six facial mists, the Pixi Glow Mist, Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist, Pixi Vitamin Wakeup Mist, Pixi Rose Glow Mist, Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist, Sun Mist, and most recently, the Body Glow Mist which you can use all over the body to hydrate and renew.

I have five of those facial mists, but one of my favourites is the Pixi Vitamin Wakeup Mist, and let me tell you exactly why I rate it.

Primark PS Prep and Perfect Glow Iridescent Priming Elixir

When I go to Primark the first thing I head for is the beauty section to see what's new in. It's very rare that a product will catch my eye and have me popping it in my basket though. I have only ever tried two products from them, their matte liquid lipstick, and more recently the PS Prep and Perfect Glow Iridescent Priming Elixir.

Huda Beauty New Nude Eyeshadow Palette

Late last year Huda Beauty launched their newest palette to date, the Huda Beauty New Nude Eyeshadow Palette. As soon as I glanced my eyes on it, I knew I had to have it. A few months lately I was kindly treated to it for my Birthday from Josh. I let out a little 'eeeek' when I opened it(although I knew I was getting it anyway). I previously tried the Huda Beauty Amethyst Obsessions Palette(review here) and I was so impressed. It was the only Eyeshadow Palette I used for months. I couldn't wait to see what was in store with the New Nude Palette.

Grether's Blackcurrant Pastilles for Throat and Voice Review

Since the beginning of the year I have suffered with multiple coughs and colds. In fact, I've got a cold now. I've had it for nearly two weeks now and it doesn't show any signs of shifting just yet. A while back I was kindly asked if I wanted to give Grether's Pastilles a try. I of course said yes as the opportunity arised at the right time(I had a cold back then too).

Derma V10 Clay Masks Review

I absolutely love face masks. In fact I have a huge stash of them. Clay masks, sheet masks, peel off masks, thermal masks, natural masks. I've near enough tried them all. I like to take time out for myself at least once or twice a week when the boys are in bed to have a little pamper. Pretty much every time I will have a face mask to hand. It is the perfect pick me up.

It's took me a while to get here as I was offered to try the Derma V10 Clay Masks quite a while ago but I totally forgot due to there being so much going on. Better late than never though eh?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Since the start of the year there's been launch after launch and there was not a single product that I've been interested in, until the Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera Palette came along.

Anastasia Beverly Hills is one of my favourite high end brands. They're well known for their eyebrow products and eyeshadow palettes. There's not a single product from ABH that I dislike. I have a number of their products, from the cult favourite dipbrow pomade to their liquid lipsticks, lip glosses and I have a few of their eyeshadow palettes too.

Trying out Gourmet Popcorn from Popcorn Shed

I absolutely love popcorn. I love to grab a big bag or two for a night in front of the telly every other weekend. I have a sweet tooth so I always opt for sweet popcorn over savoury. A few months ago I was given the opportunity to try some popcorn from Popcorn Shed and I am so impressed. Myself and the boys thoroughly enjoyed trying out all the flavours of popcorn that they have to offer.

Adexe Mini Sistine Snow White Watch Review

If I'm honest I haven't worn a watch in quite a few years. I think that's mainly because I haven't found the perfect one, until now. I was kindly gifted a watch from Adexe new Mini Sistine Collection.

"Sistine, the most famous chapel in the world, located in the Vatican city. The timepiece is inspired by the planning of the city featuring the domed chapel at the backend and supporting the front yard".
The Mini Sistine Collection consists of four watches in different strap styles, a wide range of colours, with a smaller case at a low price point. The watches start at £79. I have the Mini Sistine in Snow White(£79).

My Current Beauty Favourites

This year is going by way too fast for me. We are nearing the end of April and we are heading towards Summer. Well, I say that but it's been 20+ degrees here in the UK for the past few days. It feels like Summer at the moment. Now, don't get me wrong, this hot weather is incredible, BUT I would hate to live in a country where it is hot on a daily basis. Phew, I don't know if my body could cope with that.

That aside, I've noticed I haven't been keeping up with my monthly favourites. The last time I wrote about my favourite beauty products was back in January, where I did a round up of my 2018 favourites from different categories- Skincare, Makeup and Hair. Quite a lot has changed since then. Some of my most loved products from 2018 have been dropped for something new. No doubt it will probably change in a month or so, but until then, these are my current beauty favourites.

My Favourite Nude Lip Combination

I'm not that girl that wears understated, natural makeup. Nah, that's just not me. My everyday makeup consists of a defined brow followed by bold eye makeup with flawless skin, a nude lip and plenty of highlighter. I've attempted to do subtle makeup several times but I have a habit of adding more and more product until it becomes the complete opposite of subtle. It just didn't work at all.

I love the drama on the eyes paired with a nude lip. A nude lip can be seen as playing it a little safe but I would choose that over a bright lip anyday. It's all I ever seem to wear lately. In fact, there's three nude lip products that I haven't stopped wearing lately. I haven't used anything else on my lips for months now. They are the perfect nude lip combination.

Saying Goodbye to Beauty Division

2013 was the year I first started this blog of mine. It's bizarre to think it's been nearly seven whole years since that very first day that I posted my first blog post. Oh, back then my photography was terrible, taking flatlays on my parents bathroom floor or on my bed in poor lighting with my mobile phone. I'd post daily for months on end. I didn't care about how my photos looked, how my blog looked and I was rarely active on Instagram. Now, fast forward a couple of years and here we are. I've done a complete 360 turn.

I first started my blog when I was 19/20. It was about a year or so after I finished college and it was just before I started my first job. I was at a loss of what to do. I had in my head for quite a long time that I wanted to start a blog, however I always had that niggling thought in my head that perhaps I wasn't good enough. It sounds a bit silly, but I really did believe that.

In the very beginning I was focussed on beauty content, talking about all the newest product launches, showing my beauty hauls and reviewing every product going, but soon that changed when I became pregnant with my first little boy. I posted pregnancy updates and I talked a little about my life as a mummy. My blog took a different direction for a while, however I never completely stopped talking about beauty. That will always be my niche.

ELF Cosmetics 16 Hr Camo Concealer | The Best Drugstore Concealer

It's been quite a while since I've used anything from E.L.F Cosmetics. In fact it's been years(like 5 or 6 years perhaps). Yep, a longgg time. They only started stocking E.L.F in my local Superdrug store last year, and sadly none of their products managed to catch my eye, until now.

I recently popped into Superdrug and scanned through the stores, seeing what was new in. There seemed to be a few new concealer launches which was exciting as I'm always on the look out for a new drugstore concealer. I was drawn in by the new E.L.F Cosmetics 16 Hr Camo Concealer from the get go. It claimed to be full coverage and have 16 hour wear. I mean, 16 hours?! That's crazy right? Surely not?

Soothing Dry Skin using Lotil Original Cream

It's been nearly two weeks since I last posted, and haven't those two weeks been eventful. I had so many new blog post ideas and I was hoping to take a ton of blog photos and even bash out a few blog posts too, but of course that never happened. All of the boys were down with a nasty cold so I wasn't feeling motivated at all, and then a while later, just as they were feeling better, I came down with it too, but worse. Honestly, I was a mess. I had a cold and my throat felt like I'd swallowed a bunch of knives. I lost my voice a few times, and every time I thought I was feeling better, I'd wake up the next day feeling worse for wear. Luckily I've been a okay for the last couple of days. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

That aside, let's talk Dry Skin. A few years back, in my teen years I went through a stage where my skin was dry and itchy all the time. It came out of nowhere, and my god, it bugged me for so long. I went to at least two doctors to figure out what was going on as it was constant. The first was completely useless, and didn't help me at all. The second didn't give me any kind of diagnosis but instead prescribed me a cream called Zerobase, which worked wonders for me. I think it must've been at least a couple of months that I'd noticed a difference in my skin after using it. My skin wasn't dry and it was no longer itchy. It was a relief.

LQ Liquid Health Skin, Hair and Nails Review

I have never tried a supplement before, ever, except from when I was pregnant, but that's totally different. I don't know why I never thought about trying them for other purposes, especially since my skin, hair and nails aren't in the best condition. My skin is quite prone to breakouts(although it's mainly hormonal), my hair is lacking in volume and I've noticed myself becoming somewhat of a nail biter.

I've been trying the LQ Liquid Health Skin, Hair and Nails Supplements to see if they'd make a difference. I'd already read so many great things about them so I had high hopes.

Valentine's Day Gifting for Her with UK Lingerie

Years ago, I never used to make a fuss about Valentine's Day, purely because I never had anyone to spend it with. Since I've been with Josh, he's changed that. We have celebrated every Valentine's Day together over the last few years. Next month we will have been together for five years. In those five years we've moved in together, got engaged and had three beautiful boys along the way. It all happened very quickly, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Valentine's Day is all about showing those people in your life how much you love and appreciate them, whether that's your other half, your siblings or your best friend. Now that Valentines Day is a heartbeat away, it's time to think about how you're going to surprise them for the big day. Are you going to get creative and make something bespoke with your bare hands? Or maybe gift them their favourite perfume? There are so many different ways you could spoil them. I personally think you can't go wrong with some new Lingerie.

Baby Essentials | Bibetta Plush Baby Bib and Luxury Burp Cloth

As you may know I am a mummy of three beautiful little boys. Alfie is the oldest of them all at four years old and then I also have Harrison who is one and a half and Oscar who is seven months old. My youngest two, Harrison and Oscar were born just a year and eight days apart. Well, something along those lines. It was pretty testing having two boys back to back. I certainly wouldn't do that again in a rush.

Now, a while ago I was kindly sent the Bibetta Plush Bib and Luxury Burp Cloth. I was really hoping to review these for you earlier but it wasn't right at the time. For me, Bibs and Burp Cloths are absolutely essential. I bought so many for the boys as I know how quickly they can go through them. Babies tend to make a mess, despite them being quite young. They either stained them or soaked through them quickly. I was always washing them, and they'd go through at least 2 or 3 bibs per day. It was ridiculous. Some of them I had to chuck away as they just weren't in the best of condition anymore.

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette Review with Swatches

Later last year Urban Decay launched their latest eyeshadow palette to join their Naked Palette series, Naked Cherry, and it's on a whole different level to the others. It really didn't disappoint. It was one of my favourite makeup product launches last year, and I don't say that easily as there were so many other incredible launches too. I am a complete sucker for pink and mauve eyeshadows as they usually make my eyes stand out the most, so off the bat I knew I'd love this palette.

The Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette is part of the Naked Cherry collection which consists of three lipsticks, a cherry scented setting spray, a highlighter and blush palette, and two eyeliner pencils.

My 2018 Hair Favourites

So far I've covered Skincare and Makeup within my 2018 Favourites instalment, but now we're onto haircare! Last year I tried many hair products from so many different brands. There were some hits and some misses but I have to admit myself and my hair loved the majority of them. As well as it being the year of Skincare, it was the year of Haircare too! I really wanted to feature more products in my 2018 Haircare Favourites but it would've been impossible to fit them all in one post. There will be a review on some of those products coming up in the near future.

My 2018 Makeup Favourites

A few days ago I started off part one of my 2018 Beauty Favourites instalment. Over the next week or so I will be writing all about my favourite Skincare, Makeup, Body and Hair Products of 2018. In part one I talked all about my 2018 Skincare Favourites(which you can read all about here), but today I will be telling you all about my favourite Makeup products.

Last year I indulged in a few too many new makeup products, and yes, part of me feels slightly ashamed, but the other part of me is extremely happy, especially as some of those have quickly become must haves in my makeup routine.

There were many products that I wanted to feature here but I managed to whittle it down to 8 products. Most of these were featured heavily in my makeup bag in 2018, and others were late entries, with me using them multiple times during the last few months of the year.

My 2018 Skincare Favourites

Over the last few weeks I've been awol from the blog, making the most of what was left of the festive season, spending time with my family. It's been hectic to say the least. As well as Christmas, there was Alfie's birthday(he turned 4) and within a couple of days we celebrated the New Year! How has it all gone by so fast? The last few weeks have been a blur, but it's been wonderful nonetheless. Last year wasn't the best year, though it wasn't all bad. I have many good memories which I will cherish. The highlight of 2018 was of course having my beautiful baby Oscar. He had quite the entrance into the world(read my birth story here).

In 2018 I didn't blog as much as I wanted to, but this year I want that to change. I wasn't so motivated last year as there were so many things going on and I just didn't have my head in it.

Now it's the New Year, it's only fitting that I start off with my 2018 Beauty Favourites. As always, I will split it into different categories; Skincare, Makeup etc, and today I'm starting off with Skincare. I believe 2018 was the year of Skincare. I discovered so many incredible skincare products, all of which have become staples within my skincare routine.
