High End Makeup that's Worth the Money

When it comes to makeup, I have quite the mixture of products in my collection, from the drugstore and high end. I am really not fussy, as long as the products are of good quality and do the best job for me. As of late I seem to be reaching towards a lot of high end makeup that I really do love, however my makeup routine doesn't purely consist of just high end. I do have some high street pieces too that I adore.

I know that buying from the higher end of the beauty market can be quite overwhelming as there's so much to choose from, and of course money is a huge thing too as things can be quite pricey, so I thought I'd share some of my favourite bits that I really truly believe is worth the money.
High End Makeup that's Worth the Money
Too Faced is actually one of my favourite brands. I currently own at least two(or perhaps three) of their eyeshadow palettes. The Sweet Peach palette is the latest to my collection but the original Chocolate Bar Palette(£39) is one that I always reach for. It includes a variety of 16 different matte and shimmer shadows, from muted browns to natural pinks and dark plums. The shadows are infused with cocoa powder too, so you can imagine it smells absolutely amazing. Each and every shade within the palette are incredibly soft, pigmented and they blend in so beautifully too. It is so easy to take a look from the daytime to the night with this. It's just so versatile. If you're interested in reading more and looking through swatches of each and every shade you can have a look here.

Another thing from Too Faced that I really think is worth the price tag is the Too Faced Hangover Face Primer(£27). I have been using it near enough non stop ever since I got gifted it for Christmas. Not only does it smell wonderful, like coconut and marshmallows(dreamy combo right?) but it's extremely hydrating and cooling, yet it has a tacky feel to it that allows foundation to really stick to it, making it last really well throughout the day. I feel like it makes my foundation glide on so much better too, almost smoothly. It is just a dream!

One that I've been ranting and raving about for over a year or so now is the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24hr Foundation(£32). It is a full coverage foundation which looks absolutely flawless once applied. There is absolutely zero cakiness or any clinging to any dry patches which I love. It feels so comfortable on the skin too, which is good, albeit a little unusual as most high coverage foundations I've tried in the past feel either thick or heavy. There is a huge 40 shade selection too which makes it more likely for you to find a shade that matches your skin tone. In fact my shade(008 Beige Opale) is the perfect match. This foundation is an absolute staple for me. I cannot be without it. I love it so much that I'm now onto my second bottle of it. It seems to last me quite a long time, well, at least a couple of months, so I think the £32 you pay for it is worth it.

Now, you could say I am a total sucker for pretty packaging, especially if it's from the likes of Charlotte Tilbury, but not only is the CT packaging chic and luxurious, the quality is like no other. The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillowtalk(£24), a natural 'your lips but better' nude pink shade is a must have. It's a very neutral, wearable colour with the most wonderful creamy formula which leaves a nice, comfortable matte finish on the lips. It glides on ever so easily with no dragging or tugging. I don't like to use the word perfect often, but I think it is! I have so many more shades from the Matte Revolution Lipstick range on my wishlist now.

If there is one product I will not go without in my makeup routine, it is highlighter. I have a huge stash of them in my makeup drawers, it's quite embarassing. One that I have grown to love is the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Charming Pink(£21). It is a gorgeous soft pink, pearlescent shade with a buttery soft texture to it, which makes it an absolute dream to blend into the skin. You need very little product on your brush to inject some radiance back into the skin and give that 'lit from within' kinda glow as it's extremely pigmented. A little really goes a long way. It has the most cutest, swirl design to it too which makes it all the more appealing to the eye.

Mascara isn't my most favourite of products to buy if I'm honest, but I have to admit it makes the biggest difference to the way my eyes look, particularly the *Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara(£22). The curved brush makes it super easy to lift and add volume, but still give some extra length too. It has an ultra black formula which makes my lashes look defined and dramatic, almost making them look like a pair of false lashes(but in a good way). It doesn't seem to smudge or smear everywhere either which I am so happy about as I always do my mascara last, and some mascaras can totally ruin my makeup underneath if it transfers.

And lastly, another lip product. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks(£20) have been favourites of mine for a few years now, ever since I tried my very first shade 2/3 years ago. Since then I have amassed quite the collection, and for good reason. They are my favourite liquid lipstick formula. They are creamy, easy to apply, fully opaque in colour, yet they dry in minutes and last amazingly well throughout the day. I have never had a single issue with them. If you are looking for something to last you all day, through drinking or eating, then they may just be a great option for you. As I mentioned, I have quite a few shades in my collection, all of which are mostly nudes(typical) but the shade I like to use the most is called Crush(a soft dusty rose). I have swatched it as shown above so you can see just how pigmented and opaque the liquid lipsticks are.

Well, there we go. That is everything(well almost) that I think is worth spending your money on, should you wish to buy from the higher end of the beauty spectrum. There is so much more I could mention, but maybe I will do that in another post soon if you'd like that.

Which High End makeup products do you think are worth spending the money on? I'd love to know!
