Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Range Review

Throughout the colder months my skin can be rather problematic. Not only does my skin breakout a ton but it starts getting drier too. I switch all(or most) of my lightweight moisturisers for something much heavier and richer. For years now, ever since I was a teenager I have always relied on one particular moisturiser to help me out, the Palmers Cocoa Butter Body Lotion. It has always worked a dream for me and I have repurchased it many times since then. I think that goes to show just how much I enjoy it.

A few months ago I was offered the chance to try out Palmers new range, the Coconut Oil Formula Bodycare range to be precise, and I of course I couldn't turn it down as their Cocoa Butter Body Lotion is a favourite of mine.
Palmers Coconut Oil Formula Bodycare Range
There are a huge number of products in the range; the Coconut Oil Body Lotion, Anti-Oxidant Firming Lotion, Body Firming Sheet Mask, Body Wash, Soap, Swivel Stick, Hand Cream, Body Oil, Body Cream and Lip Balm. There seems to be something for everyone with a variety of different formulas to choose from for different purposes.

The Coconut Oil Formula Range contains three oils, the main ingredient of course being Coconut Oil(to soften and moisturise), Monoi Oil(to hydrate and pamper) and Sweet Almond Oil(to sooth and comfort).

I have been using the Body Lotion, Body Cream and Lip Balm for the last couple of months and I can finally tell you my thoughts on them. Now I have to admit Coconut is not my favourite of scents, however this range smells very sweet, but it's subtle at the same time. It's not overpowering in the slightest which I love. I immediately knew I would enjoy the smell though as I am a huge fan of the Palmers Coconut Oil Leave in Conditioner. It's almost as if I've been transported to a beautiful carribean island, it smells that good. It lingers for hours after application.

The Coconut Oil Body Lotion(£4.19, now £3.14) is my favourite of the three that I've tried. It's very lightweight and absorbs into the skin within minutes. I can easily get into my clothes afterwards and not have to worry about that horrible sticky or greasy feeling as there's none of that at all. It's very good at soothing my skin after shaving too. My legs can feel quite itchy and irritated after getting out of the bath/shower but this lotion has completely eased that feeling. My skin feels baby soft after using it too, it's wonderful.

The Coconut Oil Body Cream(£5.25, now £3.94) is a lot heavier compared to the Body Lotion but it feels really luxurious when applied onto the skin. Due to it being slightly thicker than the lotion I find that you need a lot less product. A little really goes a long way with this. I find that it takes a little bit longer to work in and soak into the skin too but that's to be expected with a thick moisturiser. You definitely need to leave it for at least 20 minutes before getting into any clothes. It deeply moisturises the skin, leaving my skin feeling super smooth and soft. This is definitely one that you'd prefer to use in the colder months. If your skin is literally as dry as the sahara then I would go for this option over the lotion.

I personally didn't get on too well with the Coconut Oil Lip Balm(£2.49). I felt like it sat on the top of my lips rather than soaking in and hydrating them. My lips just felt a bit strange and tacky. It's such a shame as I really wanted to like it. On the plus side it does have SPF15 to protect from the sun and the cold.

If you are looking to try the Coconut Oil Range then it is available in many stores and online such as Boots, Superdrug, Feelunique and even your favourite supermarkets too.
