August Beauty Favourites

Since the weather has gone from bright and sunny to dull and rainy, I think we can safely say that Summer is long gone. Now, although I do love the sun, I simply cannot cope with the heat, but Autumn, I absolutely love. I absolutely love seeing the leaves fall from the trees, layering up my clothes and getting warm and cosy on the sofa with a blanket or two, with a hot chocolate in hand. I am totally not meaning to sound like a cliche but it's really one of my favourite seasons. I'm surely not the only one that feels that way, right?

Anyway, throughout the last month or so I have been trying to get myself out of a makeup rut. I tend to always use the same products time and time again, but I decided to change it up and try new things, and see if I found any new favourites, and of course I did. Let's see what's made it's way into my makeup bag, shall we?

I'm sure you all know how much I love my highlighter by now, right? I am all about glowy skin. I have been pretty engrossed with my Jouer Rose Quartz Highlighter for quite a while now, so I knew I had to change it up. I was in fear of hitting pan soon, I have been using it that much. I won the Technic Strobe Kit in Blush(£1.99) in a giveway a few months ago(thankyou to Jodie Melissa) and I completely forgot about it, but I have been using it non stop ever since I pulled it out of my drawers. The kit contains two powders and two creams, but I personally only use the powders. They are so bloomin' pigmented and intense, they could really rival my higher end highlighters. You literally only need to dip your brush into them once and they'll give you the most stunning glow. I was so in awe when I first used them. It's such a beautiful kit! Oh, and as it's only £1.99 on Fragrance Direct I'm thinking about buying a backup 'just in case'.

I have a few powders in my collection, and I have almost certainly featured this within my favourites at one point, but I thought I would tell you about it again anyway. I'm sure it's been a while since. I'm talking about the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural(£24.50). I have the shade 'Light' which is exactly the right shade for me. I don't usually set my makeup in place with a coloured powder but this is an exception. It sets my makeup in place really well and it doesn't cake up, nor does it cling to any dry patches either. It just looks so natural, even when touching up through the day.

I try to change up my lipstick choice at least everyday, but sadly I haven't been succesful in doing so lately, and that's down to the Jouer Lip Creme in Dulce de Leche(£15). It's a gorgeous cool toned pink nude which is my favourite kind of shade. Not only is it the perfect shade for me, the formula is wonderful too. It is so creamy and it feels so comfortable once dried down to a matte finish. It has the most yummy sweet scent too.

A concealer is an absolute necessity in my makeup bag. Not only do I need it to cover up my horrendous under eye circles, but I also need to cover up those pesky spots and blemishes too. I have two concealers that I would usually use on a daily basis, but I wanted to try something new. Enter the Essence Camoflauge Full Coverage Concealer(£2.50). It can be used for both purposes, but I mainly use it to cover up my acne scars and any small spots on my skin. It is exactly what is says on the tin, it's got high coverage and it's also very pigmented. It's extremely long lasting too. It's an absolute steal for only £2.50 too. Much cheaper than my beloved Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.

With my fair skin I need all the help I can get, to get some warmth back into my skin. A bronzer is an absolute must to bring my skin back to life. I have been using the *Rimmel Radiance Shimmer Brick(£5.99) in conjunction with my Benefit Hoola Bronzer, and I love the combination. It gives my skin a lot more dimension and it adds a gorgeous glow to my skin too.

I felt like I needed to mention the Pixi Glow Mist. It was my saviour last month when I ran out of my UD All Nighter Setting Spray. I have used this every single time after I've applied my makeup, and also throughout the day to refresh and set it. It gives my skin a beautiful, radiant glow which I love, as I don't usually like my base to look too matte, and it also adds some moisture into my skin too.

Have you tried any of these? What were you loving in August?
