Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara Review

If you had asked me over a year ago what my least favourite beauty product was I would've said mascara without hesitation. I just bought any old mascara that I thought would do the job, but I soon came to realise that they were doing absolutely nothing for my lashes. They were lacking in volume and length. In fact they just looked as they did without mascara, pretty non existent.

Over the last year I have tried many mascaras, some that were disappointing and some that I fell in love with. The latest mascara that I have been trying out is the new Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara. It's completely different to the others that I have tried as it has a patented shaker system which is said to stop the formula from drying out and remain clump-free from first to last use. Whenever you feel that the formula is drying out you simply shake it up and the formula is instantly refreshed. I can't quite tell you if it works or not as I've only been using it for a short period of time but I shall keep you updated.

Due to the shaker system within the packaging it feels very bulky which I'm not a huge fan of, it's definitely not the best mascara to take with you when you're travelling. I love the mascara wand though, it's a reasonable size, not small, nor big, so it's easy to manouvre and coat even the smaller lashes in the inner corner of the eyes and along the bottom lashes too.

The mascara applies wet and takes a while to dry down so I really recommend that you keep your eyes closed until it's dried as it can transfer to the lid which can be a pain, especially if you've just perfectly applied your eyeshadow. Unfortunately it just didn't impress me. It didn't add the drama and volume that I wished for, which was so disappointing, however it did add a little bit of lengh. After application my lashes looked natural, separated and clump-free. If I'm going out with a full face of makeup this wouldn't be the mascara I would go for as I've said that I prefer a bit of drama, which the Volume Shake Mascara lacked, but if I wanted to leave the house with minimal makeup, this is certainly what I'd opt for.

You can purchase the Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara here for £8.99.
