Out of all the different makeup products that I own I have to admit the one product I find myself buying more of are lipsticks. You can never have too many right? I have quite the collection of them right now, and still I cannot bring myself to declutter. I guess you could say I'm quite the hoarder but it's not like I'm never going to use them is it? I love having different options to choose from everyday. The latest lipsticks to be added to my growing collection are the Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipsticks. I've been using them on and off over the last few months and I've thoroughly enjoyed using them.
The Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipsticks come in three different formulas and finishes with a total of 39 shades to choose from. The finishes include Sheer, Cream and Matte so there's something for everyone. If you're not a fan of sheer formulas then you've always got an option to go for a cream or a matte or vice versa. As for the packaging, I adore it. They look chic and luxurious. The lipsticks are enclosed within a black metal casing with a gold rose placed on the top of the lid. To then dispense the lipstick out of the packaging you simply click the rose and it slides out of the bottom which I find to be pretty sleek and simple.
Out of the extensive shade range I have two to show you, Caprice(Cream) and Bouquet Final(Sheer). Caprice is quite the statement red shade, it's bright and bold and packs a punch in terms of colour and pigmentation. Just one swipe and it's fully opaque on the lips which I love. As you'd expect with a cream formula it glides onto the lips effortlessly too with absolutely no dragging or tugging and it doesn't emphasise any dry patches or fine lines on the lips either. It's pretty dreamy to say the least. It's since become my staple red lipstick, replacing my Clinique Lip Pop in Cherry Pop.
Bouquet Final is a purple/fuschia with a sheer formula. As you'd expect with it being sheer it is quite the opposite of Caprice, but that's not to say it's a bad thing. It doesn't quite give you that one swipe of intense colour payoff as Caprice does, in fact you get more of a medium opacity. It's not super pigmented but not excessively sheer either. You need to at least apply another one or two swipes to get the same amount of colour and pigmentation as Caprice. I quite like that though as you can build the colour up to whatever you desire. The formula of Bouquet Final is wonderful too, it has a balmy texture but it feels very lightweight and comfortable on the lips. It glides onto the lips rather smoothly leaving a sheer wash of colour with a glossy, shiny finish. It is such a wearable colour too as it's not too bold nor bright.
All of the finishes are also infused with moisture-boosting Pro-Xylane which make your lips feel super soft and smooth which in turn makes them completely lightweight and easy to wear throughout the day.
I have to admit I found that the creamier formula of Caprice was much more long lasting on the lips than Bouquet Final, although it did need a little teeny touch up after eating and drinking but it didn't appear to flake which is a good sign as some lipsticks I've used tend to flake off after having to reapply which as you can imagine doesn't exactly look very attractive.
Both of these shades are literally the perfect spring lipsticks too. I shall be whipping these out my drawers asap. If you'd like to try them out for yourself you can purchase them for £25.50 here.
Have you tried the Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipsticks? What is your favourite shade out of the two?
