A Christmas Gift Guide for Her
We are nearly at the end of November which brings us that little bit closer to Christmas Day. Can you believe that? I can't. The year has gone by with a blink of an eye. Has anyone got their Christmas decorations up yet? I have. There are lights on the windows, a blow up Santa and Reindeer and we even have a cute little light up reindeer outside of the house. We have gone all out this year with the decorations. The whole family has got into the Christmas spirit rather early. We've even got our Christmas tree up too. Alfie helped me with the tree decorations which was so cute. I'm so glad he's at that age where he is starting to understand and appreciate Christmas. He is getting so excited for it. Once payday arrives at the end of the month we will hopefully be finished with our present shopping too. We started all the Christmas shopping back in September so we could be finished in time for the day. Last year we started so late which we totally regret. Rushing around the shops two weeks before the big day wasn't fun at all.

Skincare That I'll Forever Repurchase
I love trying out new products, it comes part and parcel with being a beauty blogger, however there are some products in my rather extensive skincare collection that I love and know works for me, so I continue to purchase. I mean, why not repurchase it if it's working wonders for your skin? I even have backups of some of my skincare products in case they run out or get discontinued. Don't you just hate it when your favourite product gets discontinued? urgh. It's always a worry.

Trying Palmer's Cocoa Butter Face Care
You may have heard of the brand Palmer's because of their notorious Cocoa Butter body care range. I absolutely loved it, the body lotion has served me well for years. Little did I know that they had a new and improved Cocoa Butter face care range, until recently. The range consists of seven products, the Ultra Gentle Cleansing Oil, Cleanser & Makeup Remover, Perfecting Facial Oil, Moisturising Day Cream, Night Cream, Exfoliating Facial Scrub and Enzyme Mask. They've pretty much covered every skincare product you'd possibly need in a skincare routine.

July Beauty Favourites
So, we are now in August. How crazy is that? So much has happened in the last couple of months, as you can imagine, as I'm now a mum of two beautiful boys. In case you're wondering, Harrison is doing so well(find out more in his one month update here). Even though I have been so busy I have surprisingly always found the time to do my makeup. There is nothing better than beating my face in the morning after a rough four hours of sleep with a nearly two month old baby. It makes me look so awake, even when I'm not feeling 100% myself and it instantly boosts my confidence. I think you'd be surprised just how much it lifts my spirits. When I was pregnant with Harrison I was just so lazy and rarely put on my makeup which in turn just made me feel really urgh, but ever since he's been born I've been wearing it pretty much everytime I've gone out.

The Garnier Pure Active Sensitive Skincare Range
A few months ago I was introduced to the new Pure Active Sensitive Skincare Range from Garnier. The range consists of a full skincare routine, the Anti-Blemish Soap-Free Gel Wash, Anti-Blemish Clarifying Tonic and the Anti-Blemish Moisturiser. I was unable to make use of the range at the time I received it as I was pregnant. I only avoided using the range up until after I had given birth as one of the ingredients within the products is salicylic acid and that's something that I wanted to avoid using during those nine months. Although it's considered safe to use in small amounts I wanted to avoid using anything that's considered harmful or harsh on my skin.
Of course in typical Lauren fashion I took like a fish to water when I arrived home from the hospital with Harrison and I got myself back into a skincare routine again. Those couple of days I spent in hospital did nothing for my skin. I stupidly forgot to pack my skincare so I didn't use anything but water. Not particularly great when you have acne-prone skin like me.

Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara Review
An Introduction to Harrison
Alfie
is so affectionate and so sweet towards Harrison. He's always asking us
if he can hold him and he gives him lots of kisses and cuddles. He
doesn't quite know how to pronounce Harrison's name just yet, it's too
long a word for him, but for now he calls him baby, which is so cute.

A Few New Beauty Bay Purchases
I very rarely ever treat myself to new beauty products, well, definitely
not as much as I used to, that's for sure. With just two weeks left until I'm
due to give birth I thought I was entitled to it. I mean c'mon, a girl
has to look her best when she's going through one of the most painful
but beautiful experiences of her life, right? That's my excuse anyway.
I was scouring Beauty Bay for quite a while as I was unsure as to what I wanted but soon enough I found myself with a few things in my cart and heading towards the checkout. It made it all the more exciting knowing I would receive my goodies the next day too as I ordered before 8pm. Don't you just love it when you get free next day delivery?

The Blogger Made Me Buy It 2017
I have to admit ever since I started blogging and reading other beauty blogs I have found myself purchasing beauty products more now than ever before, most of which are influenced by my favourite bloggers. You can see it as a good thing or a bad thing. You may just discover an absolute gem that you'd never have heard of otherwise, but it can tug on the ol' purse strings and leave your purse as light as a feather. It depends on how you view it. I must admit not all products I've bought have become favourites of mine, in fact a fair few have been a disappointment and never been repurchased. I thought I'd share the products that have well and truly won me over.

Denman Strawberry Daiquiri Fragranced Brush
Hairbrushes aren't a product that I am excited by if I'm honest, although I've been an avid lover of the tangle teezer and the wet brush, but as of late I've been thoroughly enjoying using Denman brushes. Last year I was given the opportunity to try the Denman Boar Bristle Brush which I absolutely loved!(see that review here) and after trying it I was then giving the wonderful opportunity to try out one of their fragranced brushes from The Cocktail Collection, which I was so excited about. I don't know about you but fragranced hairbrushes somehow make me feel quite nostalgic. It takes me back to when I was a child. When I was younger I used to have the idea in my head that if I sprayed my hairbrush with a tonne of deodorant then my hair would smell amazing, and actually in a way, I was kinda right. It totally worked! Although I have to admit I haven't done that in years(Don't worry, I'm not lost in the 90's/early 00's again). I tend to stick with a 'normal' hairbrush now. Well, I did until most recently when I discovered the Denman Strawberry Daiquiri Fragranced Brush.

Dr Botanicals Advanced 8-Hour Overnight Renewal Cream | Review
I am always chopping and changing my skincare routine, especially where moisturiser is concerned. My skin is combination so it's oily in my t-zone and somewhat normal/dry elsewhere. It changes all the time, in fact it's become even more difficult to control since I became pregnant, which as you can imagine is really frustrating. For the last couple of months I have been using a new night time moisturiser within my routine, the Dr Botancals Advanced 8-Hour Overnight Renewal Cream. It is quite a mouthful to say aloud.

Spring Makeup Picks | The Pink Edit
Since Winter disappeared in a flash and Spring arrived I've been changing my makeup up. Lately I've been opting for a lighter, dewy base as opposed to the usual medium-full coverage base that I'd normally go for and I've incorporated more colour into my makeup routine too. To be more specific I've been adding plenty of pink. I've put together a few of my favourite Pink Makeup Picks that are absolutely perfect for Spring.

Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipsticks | Review and Swatches
Out of all the different makeup products that I own I have to admit the one product I find myself buying more of are lipsticks. You can never have too many right? I have quite the collection of them right now, and still I cannot bring myself to declutter. I guess you could say I'm quite the hoarder but it's not like I'm never going to use them is it? I love having different options to choose from everyday. The latest lipsticks to be added to my growing collection are the Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipsticks. I've been using them on and off over the last few months and I've thoroughly enjoyed using them.
The Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipsticks come in three different formulas and finishes with a total of 39 shades to choose from. The finishes include Sheer, Cream and Matte so there's something for everyone. If you're not a fan of sheer formulas then you've always got an option to go for a cream or a matte or vice versa. As for the packaging, I adore it. They look chic and luxurious. The lipsticks are enclosed within a black metal casing with a gold rose placed on the top of the lid. To then dispense the lipstick out of the packaging you simply click the rose and it slides out of the bottom which I find to be pretty sleek and simple.

March Beauty Favourites
I'm a little late on this yet again with us being nearly halfway through April but today I thought I'd share with you my favourites from the month of March. I haven't actually popped up a monthly favourites since around October(which you can see here) but I did recently talk about my 2016 favourites in early February(you can see that here too). I just didn't find myself reaching for many new products last year. I always seemed to find myself falling back on the same products time and time again so it became a bit repetitive and so I didn't find myself talking about anything new for a while. However I am happy to say as of late I have accumulated quite a selection of products which have since become a favourite, or perhaps a staple in my routine.
As always there is more makeup than anything else. I didn't seem to try out much in relation to skincare or bodycare last month unfortunately but that may well change soon.
Let's start with my new favourite eyeshadow palette, the Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette(£43).
Boy am I glad I bought this. I've been lusting over it for the longest
time but I just never managed to get my hands on it. It was restocked so
many times on Beauty Bay and every single time I missed out! I was so
gutted but luckily I managed to get my teeny mitts on it just under two
months ago thanks to the lovely Leah from Devoted to Pink. Let me tell
you, it was definitely not a disappointment. The shadows are so buttery
soft, intensely pigmented and so easy to blend. They don't differ in
texture or pigmentation either, no matter whether it's a matte, satin or
metal finish. It's been one of the best investments I've made so far
this year.
As you may well know if you've read my previous post I have been completely won over by the Jouer Powder Highlighter in Rose Quartz(£19). Since I got this with some birthday money I just haven't managed to put it down. It has one of the best formulas that I've tried, it's literally soft to the touch and adds the most beautiful sheen to the skin. It's just a dream to use. I need to try more highlighters from Jouer, in fact I have Citrine in my sights next.
As far as primers go I don't have an awful lot of them. In fact I probably only really knew how much of a necessity they were just over a year ago. My primer of choice last month was the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer(£9.99). I only bought it later on in March but it is quite a moisturising base which adds some radiance onto the skin, therefore making me look more awake and glowing which is exactly what I need in the morning. The glow shines through the foundation too which is exactly what I love. I haven't really liked the idea of a completely matte base lately since the sun has made an appearance.
Something that isn't necessarily new to me but may be seen as entirely new to you as I haven't mentioned it much is the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer(£7.99). I sadly lost it a few months ago and haven't managed to find it since so I decided to repurchase it. I am so glad I did! It is one of my favourite under eye concealers and I don't have a lot of those. It is pretty much perfect(near enough anyway), it brightens, hydrates and covers up those pesky under eye circles so wonderfully.
Another base product is actually a foundation. I haven't invested in a new foundation for quite some time now(until now of course!). I've always been wary of drugstore foundations as some brands in the past haven't catered well for pale skin tones. However the drugstore brands seem to be slaying the foundation market at the moment by extending their shade range and launching new formulas. Maybelline in particular has impressed me with the Maybelline Matte and Poreless Foundation(£5.99). It feels so light on the skin and has a medium coverage which can be easily buildable without any caking up. They also have the perfect shade for me too(Warm Ivory for reference). I will for sure be sharing my full thoughts on it in a future post if you'd like to know more about it.
This year I have been determined to try more products out from Pixi Beauty and that I have done. Last month I invested in two of their face mists, one of which has made their way into my favourites, the Pixi Vitamin Wake Up Mist(£16). Although the product name suggests it's a 'wake up' mist it can be used for other purposes too. I love to use it after makeup to diminish the matte finish my setting powder leaves and also as a refresher for my skin too when I need it. The citrus scent is what completely drew me in though I have to say, it's beautiful. I am easily bought!
And lastly, this wouldn't be a favourites post if it didn't include a lip product. I surprisingly didn't have many lip favourites last month which is strange as I normally have a bunch of them to share. I seemed to be taken in by the whole shimmery lip 'trend' and invested in the Jouer Lip Topper in Skinnydip(£13.50). As instructed I apply it on top of my liquid lipstick of choice and it leaves the most mesmerizing nude shimmer on top making my lips look beautifully plump. It is seriously gorgeous!
What beauty products were you loving in March?
