Pretty Animalz Sheet Masks by Masque Bar

Can you believe it's finally Christmas Eve? I for one can't. I don't know if you feel like this, but I think the whole month of December drags on, but then when it comes to the big day it goes by with a blink of an eye. It's quite crazy. There are a few things that I like to do to prepare for Christmas Day, and one of those things is to have a pamper night. Now that means a nice relaxing bath with a Lush Christmas bath bomb, a face mask, followed by a full body moisturiser with a beautiful smelling candle in the distance. It is quite literally my idea of heaven.

A Christmas Gift Guide with Mad Beauty

We are now counting down the days until the big day, there's really not a lot of time left to finish the all important Christmas present shopping. There is just 8 days to go now! Not that I need to remind you. I'm sure most of you have finished your present shopping by now. In fact we already have, thankfully. Last year me and Josh were running around the shops like headless chickens, grabbing things left, right and centre. It was not enjoyable in the slightest. This year has been quite relaxed in comparison. We started back in September and literally only finished two weeks ago. All the food shopping is done now too, it's one of my favourite things. Who doesn't enjoy that? I was surrounded by way too many festive treats, I could hardly resist. I am so thankful that everything has been done now so I can just sit back, relax and spend time with my boys.

Now shopping for your loved ones can be difficult at times, especially if they're very particular about what they like. If you're still struggling for ideas on what to buy your daughter, sister, or well, any female in your life, I'm sure I can help you there, especially if they have a love for Beauty, Disney and Unicorns. Now, who doesn't? I'm 23 years old and they are three of my favourite things. Everything I have to show you is from Mad Beauty, a brand which are well known for their fun and quirky products.

Christmas Gifting Idea | Magnitone Barefaced Vibra-Sonic Shimmer Cleansing Brush

Christmas present shopping can be so daunting, especially if you're starting it a little later than usual. I did that last year and urgh, I wish I had started it earlier. Thankfully this year we have managed to finish up early, in time for the big day, which is such a relief. It means no traipsing around in town for those last minute gifts and getting lost in the crowds of people. It's a nightmare. I find online shopping to be an absolute godsend around this time of the year. I think there is more options to choose from when shopping online too. Nothing is limited, however the gifting idea that I wanted to share with you today is in fact Limited Edition, and for Christmas only from what I can gather. You know when they say something is Limited Edition? Well, I think that just makes me want it more knowing it might never be sold again.

Optiat The Hangover Coffee Scrub

As much as I like Autumn there is a few things that I dislike, the cold weather and dry skin. My body literally does not cope well during the colder months, urgh. I feel like I have to make much more effort with my skin as soon as the cold weather hits me. My hands get so dry and sore and the rest of my skin starts to dry out too. It's just not a pretty sight. Now, I don't mean to exaggerate it. My skin doesn't resemble a reptile, scaley and cracked, it's not that bad, but I like to make sure it is in the best condition. All I have to say is thank god for scrubs and moisturisers. I swear I must go through a fair few bottles/tubs of the stuff at this time of the year. In fact I've already got through a huge tub of the Soap and Glory body scrub, and I've nearly finished another.

A Christmas Gift Guide for Her

We are nearly at the end of November which brings us that little bit closer to Christmas Day. Can you believe that? I can't. The year has gone by with a blink of an eye. Has anyone got their Christmas decorations up yet? I have. There are  lights on the windows, a blow up Santa and Reindeer and we even have a cute little light up reindeer outside of the house. We have gone all out this year with the decorations. The whole family has got into the Christmas spirit rather early. We've even got our Christmas tree up too. Alfie helped me with the tree decorations which was so cute. I'm so glad he's at that age where he is starting to understand and appreciate Christmas. He is getting so excited for it. Once payday arrives at the end of the month we will hopefully be finished with our present shopping too. We started all the Christmas shopping back in September so we could be finished in time for the day. Last year we started so late which we totally regret. Rushing around the shops two weeks before the big day wasn't fun at all.

The So...? Fragrance Collection

In my teenage years I was constantly dabbling with different fragrances. I was just figuring out what kind of scent was to my taste, and one of those happened to be from So...?. Do you remember So...? Kiss or perhaps So...? Sexy. I absolutely loved those. So...? Kiss was my favourite of the two and I always seemed to get one every year for Christmas, which was good as I always had a back up when I ran out. However, things have changed since then and the brand has had a complete overhaul, and I have to say I am loving it.

Harrisons Three Month Update

So, that was quite a break wasn't it? Totally unexpected, but it's good to be back at it again. I have been super busy lately. There's been so many things to do, but very little time, so that meant that my blog had to take a backseat for a little while. I planned to come back to blogging a week or so ago but I completely lacked any motivation to write up a post. I don't like to rush things, and I certainly wouldn't write a post for the sake of it so that plan went out of the window pretty quickly. I will always, and I mean always blog whenever I want to. I don't know if you noticed but I've said I'll stick to a schedule of maybe 2 days a week, but I've never stuck to that. I have learnt that actually it's okay if I don't, and I've just decided to go with the 'flow', so to speak. I make no promises from now on. You're probably fed up with me apologising for my absence or even explaining why I've been gone, and quite frankly so am I, so yeah, I'm going to stop rambling now, haha.

You may know that a few months ago I gave birth to my second little boy, Harrison. He is just over four months old now, but I thought I would update you on how he was in month three. I really want to share these monthly updates with you so I can look back on how much he has changed as time has gone by.

How I Look After My Balayage Hair

Over the years I have dyed, bleached and stripped my hair multiple times. You would think my hair would be tired and damaged by now, right? Wrong! I went through a phase of using just Aussie haircare to get it back to its normal state again, which thankfully worked. I vowed to never touch my hair again after that, but that went out the window last year. I got so damn bored of the same brunette locks, and I decided upon getting a big change. I got blonde balayage, and I honestly have zero regrets. Just in case you're not sure about what balayage is, it's a technique where the colour is 'painted' straight to the hair to create a lovely, natural looking effect.

I do not use box dyes anymore as they left my hair feeling so dry and just urgh, not nice at all. I hadn't visited a hairdresser for years, up until last year, although there was the odd occasion that my aunty(who was previously a hairdresser) cut my hair, but that was it. I am such a shy person when it comes to meeting new people, and it takes a lot for me to trust someone with my hair too, so visiting a hair salon for the first time in years was such a huge deal to me.

A High End Beauty Haul

A little over a month ago myself and Josh took ourselves off to Exeter for a day out to do a bit of shopping, without the kids, for the first time in a long time. I was so apprehensive about leaving them but I kept telling myself they'll be fine and we needed the time to ourselves. It's so daunting leaving them, especially Harrison as he's just over three months old now, but we rarely have time where it's just us doing things together. It's certainly not selfish to have some time to yourself to just relax or do things with your partner away from the kids. It's nice to have a breather.

Anyway, during that shopping trip, we decided to start on the Christmas shopping a little bit earlier than usual, but also I couldn't go to Exeter and not pop into the makeup stores. I don't have many stores near me, other than my local Superdrug and Boots stores. It's so annoying, so of course I took full advantage of being near all of the High End makeup stands while I was there.

Maskorea Too Many Late Nights Sheet Mask

There is nothing I love more at the end of a long day than a nice, warm bubble bath, a face mask and a catch up on my favourite blogs. I need at least one pamper night a week so I can just relax and forget about all of the stresses of the week and the lack of sleep that a three month old baby brings. A face mask is a pamper night essential for me. I have a few favourites that I like to use but they're mostly clay masks, though I do like a sheet mask too. Admittedly I haven't tried many sheet masks, but I've always had fantastic results from them.

Dr Botanicals Cocoa Noir Time Reverse Facial Serum

Ever since I introduced a serum into my skincare routine, my skin has just been drinking it up, and I truly believe that my skin has got better for using it too. I have tried many serums and oils over the course of the year for different purposes but sadly I haven't managed to find one that is my 'holy grail' so to speak. The serum I have been trying out lately is the Dr Botanicals Cocoa Noir Time Reverse Facial Serum. I have only ever tried one of their products before, the Advanced 8-Hour Overnight Renewal Cream, and I absolutely loved it, so I was so excited to try this out.

August Beauty Favourites

Since the weather has gone from bright and sunny to dull and rainy, I think we can safely say that Summer is long gone. Now, although I do love the sun, I simply cannot cope with the heat, but Autumn, I absolutely love. I absolutely love seeing the leaves fall from the trees, layering up my clothes and getting warm and cosy on the sofa with a blanket or two, with a hot chocolate in hand. I am totally not meaning to sound like a cliche but it's really one of my favourite seasons. I'm surely not the only one that feels that way, right?

Anyway, throughout the last month or so I have been trying to get myself out of a makeup rut. I tend to always use the same products time and time again, but I decided to change it up and try new things, and see if I found any new favourites, and of course I did. Let's see what's made it's way into my makeup bag, shall we?

Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation

As much as I love a high end foundation I have a soft spot for drugstore foundations too. I have a few favourites from the drugstore that are literally a quarter of the price of my beloved Estee Lauder Doublewear. One of those favourites comes in the form of the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation. I first spotted it when it was released in the US but it was only released in the UK late last year I believe.

I have to admit I haven't used a Maybelline Foundation in years since the good old dream matte mousse. Anyone remember that? It used to be my 'go' to foundation. I used to slather it all over my face(with my fingers, urgh) on a daily basis, and boy did I think I looked good. In reality, I looked horrendous. It was cakey, it brought attention to my pores and lastly, it clung to all my dry patches. Who knows what I was thinking back in the day. That was around seven years ago now. Isn't that bizarre? Feels like longer since I left school.

The Setting Spray That Will Make Your Makeup Last

A few years ago when I first started wearing makeup, I would only ever set my makeup in place with powder to ensure my makeup stays put throughout the day, but over the years the beauty industry has changed and improved and as well as setting our makeup with powder, we are also using a setting spray too. Well at least I am. I have tried a number of setting sprays over the last few years, from the Makeup Revolution Pro Fix Oil Control Setting Spray to the Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist, but there is one in particular that I will always, and I mean always repurchase. That is indeed the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

L'Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water Liquid Care

Ever since I gave birth two months ago, my skin has gone back to it's usual state which I hugely dislike. Throughout the last few months of my pregnancy my face was clear, spot-free and glowing, but lately it's been looking dull and I have had breakouts popping up left, right and centre, thanks to the change in my hormones, urgh. To help get my skin back in order I've been trying out some new moisturisers, one of which is the L'Oreal Paris Hydra Genius Liquid Care.

Lancome Matte Shakers

Just last Spring I was introduced to the Lancome Juicy Shakers, an innovative lip oil with intense pigment and a high shine finish. I absolutely loved them, they were so different to any other lip products I've used before. They made my lips look so juicy and plump. I still wear them to this day, mainly when I'm wearing minimal makeup as they look so natural. A few months ago Lancome released a new matte version, named the Matte Shaker, a liquid lipstick formula.

The New Rimmel #Insta Collection Review and Swatches

Out of all the major drugstore brands on the highstreet right now, Rimmel is one of my favourites(alongside Maybelline of course). I have been so loyal to the brand over the years. I don't think there's been one single product that I've ever been disappointed by. I have repurchased their Match Perfection Foundation countless times and their lipstick formulas are second to none. I always get so excited when Rimmel announce a new launch. I was particularly excited by their latest, the #Insta Collection.

Harrisons Two Month Update

Harrison is now Two Months Old(or 10 weeks old to be precise). He is an absolute delight and the most wonderful addition to the family. Whilst it can be incredibly challenging with two young boys, I wouldn't have it any other way. I am thoroughly enjoying being a mum of two. I am just so happy that this time around I will be around to see every single milestone that Harrison takes. I've mentioned this a few times but I wasn't around to see Alfies first crawl or walk as I was working non-stop after my maternity leave. It was so disheartening missing out on those special moments. Luckily I won't be able to miss out this time around as I'm now a full time mum. It's the best decision I could've possibly made.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette Review and Swatches

Just a couple of weeks before the launch I came across the newest addition to Urban Decays very popular Naked range on Instagram, the Naked Heat. I took one look at the palette and I knew I needed it. I added it straight to the top of my wishlist. I soon heard about the pre sale before the official launch, but I sadly wasn't able to get a hold of it. The palette sold out so quickly, maybe within minutes of it appearing on the site, which I was so gutted about. Unfortunately though, after just days of people receiving it, I started reading and hearing some negativity surrounding it. It was quite surprising as the previous Naked palettes have always impressed me. As a beauty lover and blogger I always depend on others opinions so I was debating whether to actually purchase it or not when it came to the official release. Luckily, just a few days before the launch I received a very special parcel which contained the Naked Heat Palette. I was literally shook(thankyou so much to the girls at UD!).

An Alternative to the Plastic Toothbrush | F.E.T.E Bamboo Toothbrush

So let's talk teeth shall we? It's not something I talk about very often. I go through many plastic toothbrushes in a year, it's quite shocking. I've never been one to use an electric toothbrush either, I've always thought it was a waste of money. I mean, after all a plastic toothbrush does exactly the same job, and it's only 99p, so why not just go for the cheaper option? Except the only problem with plastic tootbrushes is that they aren't biodegradable so they end up in landfills, or worse still, they end up washed up on the shores, or consumed by our precious sea life. They also product harmful greenhouse gases when burnt too.

Skincare That I'll Forever Repurchase

I love trying out new products, it comes part and parcel with being a beauty blogger, however there are some products in my rather extensive skincare collection that I love and know works for me, so I continue to purchase. I mean, why not repurchase it if it's working wonders for your skin? I even have backups of some of my skincare products in case they run out or get discontinued. Don't you just hate it when your favourite product gets discontinued? urgh. It's always a worry.

Zoella Beauty Jelly and Gelato Collection

I wouldn't normally be excited by a new bath and body range from Zoella Beauty but the new Jelly and Gelato Collection got me so excited as soon as I took a look at the pretty pastel packaging. I mean, who on earth could possibly resist that? I definitely couldn't. As soon as the collection hit Superdrug stores in Mid July I decided to take a look around and see if anything took my fancy. Luckily a few things did and I happily departed with three products in tow.

Trying Palmer's Cocoa Butter Face Care

You may have heard of the brand Palmer's because of their notorious Cocoa Butter body care range. I absolutely loved it, the body lotion has served me well for years. Little did I know that they had a new and improved Cocoa Butter face care range, until recently. The range consists of seven products, the Ultra Gentle Cleansing Oil, Cleanser & Makeup Remover, Perfecting Facial Oil, Moisturising Day Cream, Night Cream, Exfoliating Facial Scrub and Enzyme Mask. They've pretty much covered every skincare product you'd possibly need in a skincare routine.

July Beauty Favourites

So, we are now in August. How crazy is that? So much has happened in the last couple of months, as you can imagine, as I'm now a mum of two beautiful boys. In case you're wondering, Harrison is doing so well(find out more in his one month update here). Even though I have been so busy I have surprisingly always found the time to do my makeup. There is nothing better than beating my face in the morning after a rough four hours of sleep with a nearly two month old baby. It makes me look so awake, even when I'm not feeling 100% myself and it instantly boosts my confidence. I think you'd be surprised just how much it lifts my spirits. When I was pregnant with Harrison I was just so lazy and rarely put on my makeup which in turn just made me feel really urgh, but ever since he's been born I've been wearing it pretty much everytime I've gone out.

The Garnier Pure Active Sensitive Skincare Range

A few months ago I was introduced to the new Pure Active Sensitive Skincare Range from Garnier. The range consists of a full skincare routine, the Anti-Blemish Soap-Free Gel Wash, Anti-Blemish Clarifying Tonic and the Anti-Blemish Moisturiser. I was unable to make use of the range at the time I received it as I was pregnant. I only avoided using the range up until after I had given birth as one of the ingredients within the products is salicylic acid and that's something that I wanted to avoid using during those nine months. Although it's considered safe to use in small amounts I wanted to avoid using anything that's considered harmful or harsh on my skin.

Of course in typical Lauren fashion I took like a fish to water when I arrived home from the hospital with Harrison and I got myself back into a skincare routine again. Those couple of days I spent in hospital did nothing for my skin. I stupidly forgot to pack my skincare so I didn't use anything but water. Not particularly great when you have acne-prone skin like me.

Harrisons One Month Update

It's been just over a month since I first introduced you to the newest addition to my family, Harrison. It's been crazy to say the least. The first couple of days after bringing him home from the hospital wasn't the easiest as I was in so much pain and Josh was back at work again pretty soon after. Luckily I had help on hand so those days were made much easier for me so that I could adjust to looking after two children rather than just the one.

Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette | Is it Worth the Hype?

For over a year I had the Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette on my wishlist. I knew I needed it after so many people were raving about it. I got so caught up in the hype around it but I was never able to get a hold of it. It was always sold out online and it was never available in the UK, up until recently this year I believe. It first became available on Beauty Bay but I missed out on so many new restocks which I was so devastated about, but finally, yes finally, a few months ago I bought it without hesitation. I was so so excited once it landed on my doorstep. But the question is, was it worth all of the hype it was getting?

The La Roche-Posay Baby Skincare Range

If you've been a regular reader of mine then you'll know that I'm now a mummy of two brilliant little baby boys. My eldest is two and a half and my youngest is just over 4 weeks old. One of the most important things for me is to make sure their skin is in the best condition, now by that I mean, protected and well moisturised. I have used the same brand for the last two and a half years, Johnsons to be precise. I've never had a single problem with any of their products but I got bored of using the same thing over and over and wanted to try something else. When I was contacted to try out the brand new La Roche-Posay Baby Skincare Range I was ecstatic to say the least. The perfect opportunity to try something different.

Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara Review

If you had asked me over a year ago what my least favourite beauty product was I would've said mascara without hesitation. I just bought any old mascara that I thought would do the job, but I soon came to realise that they were doing absolutely nothing for my lashes. They were lacking in volume and length. In fact they just looked as they did without mascara, pretty non existent.

Over the last year I have tried many mascaras, some that were disappointing and some that I fell in love with. The latest mascara that I have been trying out is the new Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara. It's completely different to the others that I have tried as it has a patented shaker system which is said to stop the formula from drying out and remain clump-free from first to last use. Whenever you feel that the formula is drying out you simply shake it up and the formula is instantly refreshed. I can't quite tell you if it works or not as I've only been using it for a short period of time but I shall keep you updated.

An Introduction to Harrison

If you don't keep up to date on my social media platforms then you may be wondering where the heck I've been for the last couple of weeks as I've been awol again here on the blog, but it's for a very good reason I promise. On Saturday 17th June our beautiful little bundle of joy Harrison made his swift entrance into the world at 12:10pm, weighing exactly 7lbs. I've been taking time out of my blog to settle myself into being a mum of not one, but two little boys. It is such a big change, not just for me and Josh but for Alfie too as he's not an only child anymore. I am so proud of how quickly he has took to his role as a big brother. I would be lying if I didn't say I was worried about how he'd react towards another child having our attention, but me and Josh were pleasantly surprised. He took to it like a duck to water.

Alfie is so affectionate and so sweet towards Harrison. He's always asking us if he can hold him and he gives him lots of kisses and cuddles. He doesn't quite know how to pronounce Harrison's name just yet, it's too long a word for him, but for now he calls him baby, which is so cute.

My Second Pregnancy Update | 38 Weeks

It's been a while since I last talked to you about my pregnancy. In fact, it's been more than a while. My last pregnancy update was at 20 weeks when I found out the babys gender. Just in case you didn't read that post then I'll bring you up to speed, we are having a baby boy! It's all very exciting. Many members of my family were so sure I was having a girl. Perhaps that was wishful thinking on their behalf as my first is a boy. As lovely as it would've been to have one of each though, it's just as exciting knowing I am going to have two beautiful little boys to look after.

It's insane to see how much time has flied as I am now 38 weeks & 1 day so it's just under two weeks until little man is due to make his arrival into the big wide world. I have to admit it is becoming quite daunting as time goes by as I am half expecting him to arrive early just like his big brother.

A Few New Beauty Bay Purchases

I very rarely ever treat myself to new beauty products, well, definitely not as much as I used to, that's for sure. With just two weeks left until I'm due to give birth I thought I was entitled to it. I mean c'mon, a girl has to look her best when she's going through one of the most painful but beautiful experiences of her life, right? That's my excuse anyway.

I was scouring Beauty Bay for quite a while as I was unsure as to what I wanted but soon enough I found myself with a few things in my cart and heading towards the checkout. It made it all the more exciting knowing I would receive my goodies the next day too as I ordered before 8pm. Don't you just love it when you get free next day delivery?

Joan Collins Compact Duo Review and Swatches

If you're not aware of the wonderful and iconic woman, Dame Joan Collins, then I will bring you up to speed. She's a multi talented woman, not only is she a fabulous english actress but she's also an author and columnist too. I was unaware until lately that she actually has her own beauty range called Timeless Beauty which includes cosmetics, fragrance and skincare. Joan created the range with the hope that it will inspire women and make them feel and look beautiful, no matter what age they are. I absolutely love that.

Now, she has many products within the Timeless Beauty range but for the last couple of months I've been trying out the Joan Collins Compact Duo Lipstick and Powder. Encased within a chic gold compact is the Divine Lips Lipstick in and the Meticulous Skin Perfecting Pressed Powder, complete with a reasonably sized mirror on the left which comes in handy for any touchups. I have the Lipstick shade 'Suzy Starr' which is a beautiful light coral, suitable for even the palest of skin tones. I couldn't be sure if it would work with darker skin tones though. The shade name was inspired by the name of the character she played in the 1980 movie 'The Tales of the Unexpected'. In fact, I believe all of the Divine Lips Lipsticks are all named after many of her famous roles.

Four Products to Achieve a Flawless Base

You may be wondering where on earth I've disappeared to over the last week. If I'm honest I just didn't feel up to it. Writing up a post on this blog was the last thing on my mind after last weeks events, like many others. It no longer felt important and so I decided to take a step back and ease myself back into blogging as and when I felt it was the right time, and that time is now.

Today I wanted to talk you through four of my favourite products that helps me to achieve that flawless base, no exaggeration. For foundation is the *Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear 24h Foundation(£31.50). If you have read my previous post here then you'll know of my love for it. It delivers full coverage with a lightweight and comfortable feel and satin-matte finish. The foundation blends into the skin ever so seamlessly, no settling into fine lines or creasing under the eyes. It's very long wearing too, which is always a good thing, especially if you want your makeup to last you well throughout the day, special occasion or not.

The Lancome Dream Team

If you're a follower of me on Instagram then you'll have seen that in late March I was sent an extremely exciting PR parcel from Lancome. Inside the elegantly presented box was the Teint Idole Ultra Wear 24h Foundation, La Base Pro Hydra Glow Primer and the All Foundation Brush. They immediately picqued my interest as I've not tried many base products from Lancome before(Teint Idole Cushion Foundation and Blush aside). Ever since then I've been using all three together to see how they worked as a trio and I'm happy to say that they've all exceeded my expectations.

The Blogger Made Me Buy It 2017

I have to admit ever since I started blogging and reading other beauty blogs I have found myself purchasing beauty products more now than ever before, most of which are influenced by my favourite bloggers. You can see it as a good thing or a bad thing. You may just discover an absolute gem that you'd never have heard of otherwise, but it can tug on the ol' purse strings and leave your purse as light as a feather. It depends on how you view it. I must admit not all products I've bought have become favourites of mine, in fact a fair few have been a disappointment and never been repurchased. I thought I'd share the products that have well and truly won me over.

Denman Strawberry Daiquiri Fragranced Brush

Hairbrushes aren't a product that I am excited by if I'm honest, although I've been an avid lover of the tangle teezer and the wet brush, but as of late I've been thoroughly enjoying using Denman brushes. Last year I was given the opportunity to try the Denman Boar Bristle Brush which I absolutely loved!(see that review here) and after trying it I was then giving the wonderful opportunity to try out one of their fragranced brushes from The Cocktail Collection, which I was so excited about. I don't know about you but fragranced hairbrushes somehow make me feel quite nostalgic. It takes me back to when I was a child. When I was younger I used to have the idea in my head that if I sprayed my hairbrush with a tonne of deodorant then my hair would smell amazing, and actually in a way, I was kinda right. It totally worked! Although I have to admit I haven't done that in years(Don't worry, I'm not lost in the 90's/early 00's again). I tend to stick with a 'normal' hairbrush now. Well, I did until most recently when I discovered the Denman Strawberry Daiquiri Fragranced Brush.

Dr Botanicals Advanced 8-Hour Overnight Renewal Cream | Review

I am always chopping and changing my skincare routine, especially where moisturiser is concerned. My skin is combination so it's oily in my t-zone and somewhat normal/dry elsewhere. It changes all the time, in fact it's become even more difficult to control since I became pregnant, which as you can imagine is really frustrating. For the last couple of months I have been using a new night time moisturiser within my routine, the Dr Botancals Advanced 8-Hour Overnight Renewal Cream. It is quite a mouthful to say aloud.

Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Oil with Rose Petals

For the best part of two years, maybe more, I've used the Garnier Micellar Water to remove my makeup. I guess you could say it's been an absolute staple within my skincare routine as I've purchased many a bottle. Micellar Water became such a big thing in skincare after it was first introduced by Bioderma. Admittedly I never tried the Bioderma version as I couldn't justify paying over £10 for something I wasn't quite sure of so I was relieved when the drugstore started picking up on the popularity of it and created their own versions. Now it seems that Micellar Waters are actually being pushed aside for the likes of Micellar Cleansing Oils instead. I was so intrigued by this and was curious to see if a Micellar Cleansing Oil was just as effective as the Micellar Water.

For the last month or so I've been testing out the brand new Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Oil with Rose Petals(£15) to see if it worked just as well as a normal Micellar Water and I am happy to report back that it is just as good, if not better.

My Top Three Favourite Concealers

If I'm honest Concealer has never been one of my favourite steps in my makeup routine, although it is an absolute necessity, without it I would look like a walking zombie. I tend to use different concealers on different areas such as my under eyes and on various parts of my face to cover any imperfections I may have. Although I do have quite a selection of concealers in my stash I tend to reach for just three right now. Surprisingly only one of them is high end and the other two are drugstore.

Spring Makeup Picks | The Pink Edit

Since Winter disappeared in a flash and Spring arrived I've been changing my makeup up. Lately I've been opting for a lighter, dewy base as opposed to the usual medium-full coverage base that I'd normally go for and I've incorporated more colour into my makeup routine too. To be more specific I've been adding plenty of pink. I've put together a few of my favourite Pink Makeup Picks that are absolutely perfect for Spring.

Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipsticks | Review and Swatches

Out of all the different makeup products that I own I have to admit the one product I find myself buying more of are lipsticks. You can never have too many right? I have quite the collection of them right now, and still I cannot bring myself to declutter. I guess you could say I'm quite the hoarder but it's not like I'm never going to use them is it? I love having different options to choose from everyday. The latest lipsticks to be added to my growing collection are the Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipsticks. I've been using them on and off over the last few months and I've thoroughly enjoyed using them.

The Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipsticks come in three different formulas and finishes with a total of 39 shades to choose from. The finishes include Sheer, Cream and Matte so there's something for everyone. If you're not a fan of sheer formulas then you've always got an option to go for a cream or a matte or vice versa. As for the packaging, I adore it. They look chic and luxurious. The lipsticks are enclosed within a black metal casing with a gold rose placed on the top of the lid. To then dispense the lipstick out of the packaging you simply click the rose and it slides out of the bottom which I find to be pretty sleek and simple.

Vichy Dermablend Makeup Range

As someone who is quite a fan of Vichy skincare it's a wonder why I have never tried any of their makeup products before, specifically their Dermablend range. Well saying that I have been quite a hardcore lover of their Setting Powder for quite some time now but I have never delved any further than that, until recently. For the last few months I have been trying out three of their base products, the Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation, 3D Correction Foundation and Corrective Stick and so I thought I would share my thoughts on them with you.

The Vichy Dermablend range is very specifically a camouflage makeup range which is designed to cover and conceal any imperfections or flaws, from redness to dark circles, vitiligo and even acne too.

March Beauty Favourites

I'm a little late on this yet again with us being nearly halfway through April but today I thought I'd share with you my favourites from the month of March. I haven't actually popped up a monthly favourites since around October(which you can see here) but I did recently talk about my 2016 favourites in early February(you can see that here too). I just didn't find myself reaching for many new products last year. I always seemed to find myself falling back on the same products time and time again so it became a bit repetitive and so I didn't find myself talking about anything new for a while. However I am happy to say as of late I have accumulated quite a selection of products which have since become a favourite, or perhaps a staple in my routine.

As always there is more makeup than anything else. I didn't seem to try out much in relation to skincare or bodycare last month unfortunately but that may well change soon.
March Beauty Favourites 2017
Let's start with my new favourite eyeshadow palette, the Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette(£43). Boy am I glad I bought this. I've been lusting over it for the longest time but I just never managed to get my hands on it. It was restocked so many times on Beauty Bay and every single time I missed out! I was so gutted but luckily I managed to get my teeny mitts on it just under two months ago thanks to the lovely Leah from Devoted to Pink. Let me tell you, it was definitely not a disappointment. The shadows are so buttery soft, intensely pigmented and so easy to blend. They don't differ in texture or pigmentation either, no matter whether it's a matte, satin or metal finish. It's been one of the best investments I've made so far this year.

As you may well know if you've read my previous post I have been completely won over by the Jouer Powder Highlighter in Rose Quartz(£19). Since I got this with some birthday money I just haven't managed to put it down. It has one of the best formulas that I've tried, it's literally soft to the touch and adds the most beautiful sheen to the skin. It's just a dream to use. I need to try more highlighters from Jouer, in fact I have Citrine in my sights next.

As far as primers go I don't have an awful lot of them. In fact I probably only really knew how much of a necessity they were just over a year ago. My primer of choice last month was the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer(£9.99). I only bought it later on in March but it is quite a moisturising base which adds some radiance onto the skin, therefore making me look more awake and glowing which is exactly what I need in the morning. The glow shines through the foundation too which is exactly what I love. I haven't really liked the idea of a completely matte base lately since the sun has made an appearance.

Something that isn't necessarily new to me but may be seen as entirely new to you as I haven't mentioned it much is the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer(£7.99). I sadly lost it a few months ago and haven't managed to find it since so I decided to repurchase it. I am so glad I did! It is one of my favourite under eye concealers and I don't have a lot of those. It is pretty much perfect(near enough anyway), it brightens, hydrates and covers up those pesky under eye circles so wonderfully.

Another base product is actually a foundation. I haven't invested in a new foundation for quite some time now(until now of course!). I've always been wary of drugstore foundations as some brands in the past haven't catered well for pale skin tones. However the drugstore brands seem to be slaying the foundation market at the moment by extending their shade range and launching new formulas. Maybelline in particular has impressed me with the Maybelline Matte and Poreless Foundation(£5.99). It feels so light on the skin and has a medium coverage which can be easily buildable without any caking up. They also have the perfect shade for me too(Warm Ivory for reference). I will for sure be sharing my full thoughts on it in a future post if you'd like to know more about it.

This year I have been determined to try more products out from Pixi Beauty and that I have done. Last month I invested in two of their face mists, one of which has made their way into my favourites, the Pixi Vitamin Wake Up Mist(£16). Although the product name suggests it's a 'wake up' mist it can be used for other purposes too. I love to use it after makeup to diminish the matte finish my setting powder leaves and also as a refresher for my skin too when I need it. The citrus scent is what completely drew me in though I have to say, it's beautiful. I am easily bought!

And lastly, this wouldn't be a favourites post if it didn't include a lip product. I surprisingly didn't have many lip favourites last month which is strange as I normally have a bunch of them to share. I seemed to be taken in by the whole shimmery lip 'trend' and invested in the Jouer Lip Topper in Skinnydip(£13.50). As instructed I apply it on top of my liquid lipstick of choice and it leaves the most mesmerizing nude shimmer on top making my lips look beautifully plump. It is seriously gorgeous!

What beauty products were you loving in March?
