The Top Highlighters You Need to Try

Over the last couple of years, more so since I started this blog my makeup collection has expanded quite dramatically, with my most purchased products being highlighters. I just can't help myself, they have become quite an obsession lately. I like to switch my highlighters up daily so I don't get into a habit of using the same one over and over again. Since doing this I have discovered some pretty incredible ones that I wouldn't have tried otherwise. There are different types of highlighters, powder and cream, but I seem to prefer powder highlighters over cream as they glide ever so smoothly onto the skin and of course they apply better over powder too.

As I mentioned before I have been switching up my highlighters lately and so I wanted to share with you my top 5 highlighters that I think are worth trying out. I did try to mix it up a little with drugstore and high end but I noticed that I actually play around with higher end products more than drugstore. If you'd like to see a drugstore highlighter roundup then please let me know as there are a few hidden gems out there that you may or may not have come across just yet.
Top Highlighters to Try
A few days ago I actually talked about a new highlighter favourite from the drugstore, the NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette(you can find the review and swatches here) but I chose not to feature it within this post. It is seriously dreamy with a variety of different shades and intense pigmentation. You should check that out.

With all of that to one side let's take a look at my top favourite highlighters! First up is my absolute favourite from the drugstore, the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette. This is all kinds of beautiful in one palette. It includes 3 powder highlighters and 1 cream. I don't want to say too much as I have a full review and swatches on it here. The pigmentation is spot on, some may even say it's quite full on and a litle glittery but that is exactly what I love about it. My favourite shades within the palette are the bronzey/orange shade called Ecliptic and the Lavender shade, Hemisphere, they are so stunning. It is a bargain at just £9.99 here.

One of the highlighters that I have used continuously for years is the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle. It has been going for years now hence the old packaging and there's not much of a dent to it either. It's the most beautiful beige-champagne shade, which adds a certain amount of warmth and radiance to my complexion. Whenever I'm looking for a subtle highlight I always opt for this one. It's especially perfect for the daytime. You can purchase it here for £24.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator in Starlight is a rather new addition to my collection. I had it on my wishlist for so long but soon enough it was out of stock. Unfortunately it has now become quite hard to get hold of now but luckily I found it in a blogsale. I am so glad I got my hands on it because it is an absolute game changer. It is a pale white gold with zero shimmer which imparts a stunning lit within glow to the skin. I have been using this a lot lately and have even been using it underneath other highlighters too to intensify it. This particular shade may be unable to purchase but the other shades are so gorgeous too.

Lastly is the limited edition Becca X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette. Within it contains three blush shades, but most importantly two highlighting shades, Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop. Champagne Pop is a warm peachy champagne and Prosecco Pop is a true light-medium gold. They are so rich in pigment and smooth and creamy to the touch. In fact I would go as far to say they're probably the best of high end highlighters that I've tried so far. You can purchase Champagne Pop separately for £32 but unfortunately Prosecco Pop is only available as part of the Champagne Collection Face Palette and within the new Split Pans too.

What are your top favourite highlighters? Let me know!
