Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation

Not that long ago Foundation was my favourite makeup product to purchase but as of late that has truly diminished, with my love for lipsticks becoming extremely worrying. My foundation collection used to be quite extensive but I've found myself switching between at least 3 bases recently, with one being the Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
Now, this foundation is a bit of a difficult one, it's a bit like marmite, you either love it or hate it, but my god am I confused, it's a bit of both. Let's talk about packaging first shall we? The foundation is encased within a 30ml glass bottle, it looks luxurious at first glance but there's no pump which makes it extremely difficult to dispense the correct amount of foundation without losing any. Annoying right? I don't want to have to fork out some extra pennies for a new foundation pump when the foundation already retails for £30, and only contains 30ml. I feel like it would be so much more appealing and practical if it had a pump with it.

The formula is what completely drew me in though. Doublewear is a liquid based, medium to full coverage foundation which delivers a very natural looking matte base with an added extra of SPF 10(always a good thing to have sun protection right?). Admittedly it does tend to cake up a little around my mouth where I get those 'smile lines', which looks absolutely horrifying, but that's nothing a spritz of MAC Fix+ and a beauty blender can't solve.

I have combination skin and it's been super humid lately so of course I need my base to stay put all through the day. The doublewear comes in handy throughout the sunny weather as it doesn't tend to slide off throughout the day like most of my foundations do. It is claimed that it has a lasting power of 15 hours which I cannot comment on as I don't normally wear my foundation for that long. I apply it at around 9am and it is still very much there at 4pm. A 7 hour window isn't too bad is it?

There is one thing that is niggling at me though, I have the lightest shade 'Shell', which looks like a perfect colour match literally as soon as you apply it but within about 15 minutes, perhaps longer I feel like it oxidises a little. It's confusing, does anyone else notice that?

Overall the Estee Lauder Doublewear is just a confusing one, don't get me wrong the formula is pretty much perfect and I love the coverage. It covers up everything from freckles to acne scarring but the lack of a pump and colour match lets it down a little. You can purchase it from Boots here.

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks Review and Swatches

Just less than a month ago I got the best blogger mail delivered to my door, and you could say I was pretty shocked and ecstatic when I opened it to see that it was a wonderful makeup case full of some new Maybelline releases. In April I was asked to be a part of the #MaybellineSquad and I had to accept, but what was in store for me, I just didn't expect at all in the slightest. Contained within the makeup case was the new collection of the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks.

There are 8 beautiful shades within the range from vibrant pinks and bright reds through to wearable nude shades. All of the bases are definitely covered here within the shade range. I have tried many liquid lipsticks from the likes of the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks to the Nyx Lip Creams and loved them but the Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick formula is unlike anything I've tried before, but that is a good thing. Many liquid lipsticks can appear quite dry on the lips and crack overtime but that's not the case with these.

They have a semi-matte, almost satin finish which don't feel dry in the slightest. If anything they are smooth to apply and feel ever so creamy on the lips leaving no uncomfortable feeling like a matte liquid lipstick would do. The pigmentation is insane too with every single shade appearing opaque on the lips with just one swipe. No sticky residue or film to be detected at all.

The slanted tip applicator makes application so easy too and lines the lips perfectly without making a mess. As for the lasting power, it lasts just over 6 hours but that's without eating. When eating it does tend to slide off but it leaves a slight stain behind on the lips.

All of the shades are beautiful but there are three in particular that has managed to sneak their way into my handbag. It might not be a shock to you that the two nude shades within the range, Nude Thrill and Nude Flush are firm favourites. Also, I am loving Rebel Red too, it's the perfect bold statement red shade.

They are ever so dreamy, I can only imagine that anybody with dry lips will love them too, especially as they are more comfortable on the lips. I have been using different shades from the range alternatively ever since I got them, I can't get enough. I can only hope in time that they will add more shades to the range, maybe some more nudes and vampy shades for autumn.

The Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks retail at £6.99 here but Boots currently have a 3 for 2 offer in which can save you a few pennies.

Skinbreeze Skincare | Brightening Serum and Blemish Fix Review

I am feeling super relieved at the moment, I have got just over a week off work so I'm hoping in this short period of time that I will manage to write up a couple of weeks post. I will still be posting 3 blog posts a week. Seriously though, if you're a mother and you work and blog everyday I take my hat off to you. I'm trying my best to keep to a schedule, haha.

Anyway, with that aside, over the last month or so I've been trialling out some new skincare from Skinbreeze. Admittedly I had never heard of Skinbreeze beforehand which is a surprise to me as many celebrities seem to be raving about their treatments. Skinbreeze is not necessarily a brand but a professional salon based treatment system who have their own skincare range. They cater for every skin type and skin concern possible.
Skinbreeze Brightening Serum and Blemish Fix
For me though acne is my main concern since it started in my teens. I have tried many things to combat it such as over the counter medicines and even roaccutane which only resulted in the spots popping back up again. Acne really puts a dent in my confidence, and even though it's not as bad as it was a few years back before roaccutane, it's still present and affects me. As well as the acne, my complexion tends to look quite dull too, and dare I say it, lifeless, especially in the morning. I crave clear, glowing skin, and that's exactly what I was hoping for when I trialled the Skinbreeze Brightening Serum and Blemish Fix

Let's talk packaging first shall we? It may seem slightly strange that the serum is within a syringe but I actually find it so much easier to work with as you're able to control how much product you need to apply. I find that I only need to dispense one small 'pump' to use all over my face.
Skinbreeze Brightening Serum and Blemish Fix
The Blemish Fix is as you'd guess, for problematic, acne prone skin. It contains the main spot fighting ingredient, salicylic acid which helps to prevent oil from getting trapped in the pores. As well as salicylic acid it also contains hyaluronic acid and seaweed extract to soothe and hydrate. The instructions are to apply it every morning and night but I only applied it at night as I felt that it was too much for me to use twice a day. The Blemish Fix serum makes my skin feel incredibly dry so a moisturiser is definitely needed after use. Personally I didn't see any difference in my complexion at all, except for the tight, dry feeling that the serum left behind unfortunately. I'm so surprised seeing as it contains hyaluronic acid. I'm gutted I didn't get along with it.

As for the Brightening Serum, well, that's a totally different story. It's supposed to lighten and brighten any dull complexion and help towards reducing any pigmentation left behind from acne and brown spots too. Well it definitely takes my complexion from dull to bright and glowy, however I never noticed any change in my scarring from my acne. That's still as prominent as ever. It's instructed that I applied this on a clean face day and night and I stuck to that, just for a while, but eventually decided upon applying it in the morning before applying my makeup. It creates a nice illuminating base for my makeup for sure.
The Brightening Serum and Blemish Fix along with the rest of the Skinbreeze skincare range is available within all Skinbreeze Salons nationwide. From what I can tell it doesn't look like the Skinbreeze is available online unfortunately.

Have you tried anything from the Skinbreeze Range? Do you suffer from acne and a dull complexion? I'd love to know what you'd suggest I try next
