Lush Fizzbanger Bath Bomb

I am completely and utterly besotted with Lush. I hadn't got into Lush until I placed my first big online order at Christmas. I've become a little teeny bit obsessed ever since. I've tried my fair share of bath bombs and bubble bars and I've been trying to get into their skincare too.

I've repeatedly picked up the same bath bombs for a while and so I wanted a change and decided to try something new. I had a smell of possibly every single bath bomb in store until I decided on the Lush Fizzbanger Bath Bomb.
Lush Fizzbanger Bath Bomb
It's a very exciting bath bomb, including ingredients such as ylang ylang, cinnamon leaf oil and even popping candy which is the most exciting aspect of it. As for the scent, well It's quite a confusing smell, you can definitely detect the spiciness of the cinnamon but it also smells very citrusy. I'd normally steer clear of any bath products with cinnamon as I'm not keen on spicy scents but it's not too overpowering which I like and actually smells more zesty and refreshing than anything.

The design of the Fizzbanger is pretty cute but simple as its spherical in shape and a basic bright yellow. Not necessarily appealing to the eye as I'm more normally drawn to more creative bath bombs but the scent is too good to miss out on. It's stayed true to it's Fizzbanger name too with the popping candy.

Once placed into the bath the bath bomb turns the water into a bright yellow-blue colour but after a while settles down to a bright green. The only negative I can find is that it takes quite a while for the bath bomb to evaporate. It makes me feel very relaxed, fresh and clean(obvs) and the scents not overally strong which is a huge plus.

The Lush Fizzbanger is £3.95 which is pretty fair as it's quite a reasonable, medium sized bath bomb. I will definitely be repurchasing this again soon when I next pop into Lush.

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Range | Review

A few months ago I was shopping in my local Boots and did a little hauling(you can see that haul post here). I picked up a few products from the Lee Stafford Hair Growth Range. It was an impulse buy but there were two things that completely sold it to me. The hair growth statement really appealed to me and there was a special offer on at the time. Good reasons to purchase right?

I've never tried anything from the Lee Stafford Hair Range before but I picked up three products from the Hair Growth Range. The Hair Growth Shampoo, Conditioner and the Hair Treatment.
Lee Stafford Hair Growth Range
My hair never grows much past my shoulders. I've been growing my hair out for two years from a bob cut and it's been a rather slow process. I just got so tired of it being the same length and I wanted a change so I invested in some hair extensions to achieve the long locks I crave for. They were fantastic for a while but the maintenance and overall process of attaching the extensions got too time consuming for me. Don't get me wrong, hair extensions are a super easy way of getting quick and longer hair but I wanted REAL, longer hair of my own.

Considering how much I have struggled with growing my hair longer I thought the Hair Growth range was worth trying out. Admittedly I didn't have high hopes for them at first but I am happy to say that they've totally changed the way my hair looks and feels.

I use them all as instructed, applying the shampoo first, then the hair treatment and the conditioner following afterwards.
Lee Stafford Hair Growth Shampoo and Conditioner
Not only do the products make my hair feel extremely soft and nourished but my hair has at least grown an inch or two(maybe more) since I started using them a few months ago. I can definitely notice the difference. I can't say what specific product makes the biggest difference but the hair treatment makes my hair look in better condition and really infuses much needed moisture into my hair.
Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment
I have also found that they really help to untangle my hair. It sometimes gets extremely knotty after washing my hair and it came as a shock when I brushed my hair afterwards with ease. No struggle or pain whatsoever.
If you struggle to grow your hair past a certain length then I highly suggest you try out the Lee Stafford Hair Growth Range. I really rate the range as a whole but there is one product that I am yet to try, the Leave In Treatment. I will most likely give that a go in the future. All of the products are running really low and coming to the end of their life so I will need to pop into Boots soon to stock up. Speaking of Boots, there is 1/3 off Lee Stafford at the moment and the Shampoo and Conditioner are priced at £4.99 as opposed to the normal RRP of £7.49. The Hair Treatment is also reduced to £5.66 from £8.49.

NARS Summer Gifting Sets 2015 | Pictures and Swatches

A few months ago I read a few spoiler posts about the new NARS Summer Gifting Sets. I was completely drawn in by them and so I started saving up money for the release date. The gifting sets were due to release exclusively on the Selfridges website and in stores on the 1st July but there was a slight delay and so they weren't available until the next day. I thought they were all going to run out of stock really quickly but I was surprised to see that there was still stock left when I noticed that they were online.

There are three holiday gifting sets, including two lip pencil sets called True NARS and Ultimate NARS. There is also a cheek palette called Blame it on NARS. I couldn't resist purchasing them all.

On the right is The True NARS Lip Pencil Set, the boldest of both pencil sets including three slightly brighter, bolder shades. From top to bottom are two Satin Lip Pencils in the shades Yu and Luxembourg and a Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the shade Provocative Red. Yu is a bright, bold Fuschia, Luxembourg is a cherry red and Provocative is a medium beige, almost plum shade. They are all so perfect for the Summer and very wearable despite being a little on the bright side.

On the left is the Ultimate NARS Pencil Setthe most wearable of the two featuring the nude shades. From top to bottom is the Satin Lip Pencil in Stourhead, Satin Lip Pencil in Biscayne Park and Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Sex Machine. Stourhead is a light, almost Barbie pink shade, Biscayne park is a peachy-beige and Sex Machine has a mauvey tone to it.

The pigmentation is on point and I love that the sets include not one, but two different formulations of the lip pencils so you can choose between a matte or velvet-y finish. Each of the Pencil Sets come with a sharpener included which is a great touch. There's no need to search high and low for a new sharpener to fit them. What surprised me the most is that they have a RRP of just £29(say whaaat?!) which is pretty incredible considering just one individual lip pencil costs £17.50.

L-R; Satellite of Love, Casino, Day Dream, New Attitude

Last but no means least is the Blame it on NARS Cheek Palette, including the Satellite of Love Highlighting Blush Powder, Casino Bronzing Powder, Day Dream Blush, New Attitude Blush and a small ITA Kabuki Brush. The Satellite of Love highlighting brush is a stunning peachy- gold, Casino is a shimmery bronze, Day Dream is a matte coral-pink and New Attitude is a matte bright pink. They are all really pigmented, I am particularly impressed with the highlighting shade. It is stunning and really gives my skin a beautiful shimmery glow. The cheek palette is £45 and a fantastic way of trying out different products without forking out for an individual one.

Overall I absolutely love the new NARS Holiday Gifting Sets this year. The packaging and design are simply beautiful and the prices, well they're not to be looked down on. They are available to purchase exclusively from Selfridges only. Unfortunately the True NARS Lip Pencil set is no longer in stock but it's worth checking to see if they're online every once in a while or check up with Selfridges via twitter.

Will you be picking up any of the gifting sets?

Stay Safe in the Sun with La Roche-Posay

Summer is just beginning. It's the middle of July and the weather has been completely scorching hot on most days the last few weeks. That is not typical British weather which is quite a shock to the system as a born and bred Brit. Yeah it's been pretty miserable again the last few days but I'm hoping the sun will eventually grace the UK again.

Anyway, speaking of Summer, what is the most important thing to maintain and use during those hot and sweaty days? Not a tan, no, but a good sunscreen should always be in your presence. It is an extremely important task to complete. I'm sure the majority of you lovely ladies or gents love to get a tan naturally and skip the sunscreen but those actions have consequences.

I'm not going to give you a lecture or tell you what to do and I'm not trying to scare you at all. I couldn't do that but I feel the need to share the importance of using a good sunscreen, especially with the sunny days ahead of us.
Stay Safe in the Sun with La Roche-Posay
I'm sure you're all aware of Skin Cancer. It is completely unseen and there are zero signs of it on the skin. If Melanoma is diagnosed earlier enough then 90% of cases can be treated effectively.

La Roche-Posay has created this fantastic but super cute video to help encourage you and your family or friends to check your moles when you spot them. Checking those moles could possibly save your life.

I'm sure you will see the importance of what a high SPF sunscreen can really do. In fact La Roche-Posay has a great range of sunscreen products for different skin types from oily to combo and normal skin. I have combination skin and so the Anthelios range was ideal for me. I have the Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid which has a factor of 50 which is extremely high. It provides high broad spectrum protection against the harmful UVA and UVB rays.

La Roche-Posay have also for a sunscreen which is specially formulated for babies and children named Anthelios Dermo-Kids. It contains optimal UVA and UVB protection and is suitable for the delicate skin of babies. It contains a well known ingredient, Shea butter which is very nourishing and so will moisturise the skin as well as protect.

There is nothing more important for me during the summer than protecting mine and my families skin.

A Late June Favourites

Okay, so last months favourites may be a little bit late as it's mid July and pretty much nearing the end of the month. I have terrible timing don't I? Typical me.

I surprisingly have a few favourites from June. I normally skip a few months as I'm always constantly using the same products but this time I gave myself a good talking to and decided on trying new products rather than sticking to the old. So what were my June Favourites?
June Beauty Favourites 2015
There are zero skincare products to be found but mainly makeup and a few(I mean two) scents that I adore. They are all pretty much affordable bar two.

First up is the Soap and Glory Fruitigo Body Spray. It is a beautiful, fruity but very refreshing scent, exactly as described. It's perfect for the Summer. I love to spritz this on my body after a shower or before I go out. It honestly smells incredible. I have a few more different scents from the Soap and Glory Fragrance Mist Range but this is definitely my most used and favourite of them all.

The Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer has been out of my hands until recently when I made a repurchase. I love to use it under my eyes as it really brightens up my under eye area and makes me feel and look much more awake. It's a shame that it's a bit orangey in tone as I love the luminous effect it gives. I wish that Rimmel would do a lighter shade with no sign of orange but I love it anyway.
June Beauty Favourites 2015
I had my eyes on the Sleek Blush By 3 in Pink Lemonade from my birthday last year and I only just started properly using it last month and I'm still using it now. It includes 3 different blush shades, one being a cream formula. They are all pretty  shades but I love the shade on the far left the most. The name of the shade is called Pink Mint. It's almost similar to Rose Gold but more pink toned. As well as loving that particular shade I quite enjoy using the one on the far right too called Icing Sugar. It's more peachy toned and really looks quite stunning. I'm too scared of using the cream blush, in fear of looking like a clown.

I have been using my MAC Soft and Gentle for a good few months and decided to switch it up and give theBalm Mary Lou Manizer a go, and boy am I glad I did. I wish I had given this more of a chance when I first bought it but now I'm besotted with it. It's a gorgeous gold-champagne that gives me the most gorgeous, radiant effect on my skin. It's quite incredible.

Last but no means least is the Marc Jacobs Daisy Delight EDT Spray. I've been using it for over a month now and I love it. I spray it on my wrist and neck before I leave the house and also keep it stored inside my Flo Accessories Perfume Atomizer so I can pop it in my bag and spray it when I'm on the go. It's such a beautiful, floral but fruity scent that I can't get enough of.

What are your June Favourites?

NOTD | Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Sugar Apple

I am completely hopeless when it comes down to my nails. I don't take care of them as much as I should and I guess you could say that they've been neglected, particularly over the last two years. I used to be an avid nail paint wearer and that slowly subsided, until now that is.

I think the bright, sunny weather is what got me painting my nails again. I love wearing brighter colours on my nails from neon pinks to oranges but I opted for a minty green shade that I hadn't used before. In fact I think the majority of my nail polish collection is nearly completely unused, oops. The minty green shade in question is the Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in 'Sugar Apple'.
Barry M Sugar Apple Gelly Nail Paint
I bought it on a whim when mint nails were all the rage last year and I have to say I adore the colour. At least two applications were enough to make the colour completely opaque which is a good sign. As Sugar Apple is in the Gelly range it does have a slight sheen effect but it doesn't last for long which is a shame.

They lasted just one day before I started noticing the polish chipping but it might not be down to the polish. I work as a sales assistant so that involves some heavy lifting. I also didn't apply a top or base coat as I don't have any in my collection. That's another thing or two on my to buy list.
Barry M Sugar Apple Gelly Nail Paint
Overall, I absolutely adore the colour, it's just a shame it didn't last for long before it showed signs of chipping. The Barry M Sugar Apple Gelly Nail Paint is also super cheap at just £3.99. The Barry M Polishes are quite impressive with the shade range and finishes. I have my fair share of them.

It's a miracle what nail polish can do. It really cheers me up and makes me feel more like me and a bit more confident.

Have you tried the Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Sugar Apple? What polishes do you highly suggest I try? Do you have any top or base coat recommendations?

Boots and The Bodyshop Haul

I am absolutely terrible when it comes to payday. Of course I get all the essentials and a few gifts for Alfie and do a huge food shop but I do like to treat myself too. I can't say that a Boots shop was needed but I was persuaded by the Advantage Card coupons that popped through my door a few weeks ago. In fact I left the house at least twice in one week wanting to look around Boots but I forgot the coupons so I talked myself out of buying anything. That is some serious willpower is it not?
Boots and The Bodyshop Haul
This time I finally remembered and had a cheeky little haul, but not only did I do a little damage there but I bought a few things from the Bodyshop too.

Where shall we start first then? Boots. I had a list of things in my head that I wanted to buy and I managed to get them all. That rarely happens.
Boots and The Bodyshop Haul
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | Link
I have read many reviews by a few of my favourite bloggers about this mascara, comparing it to my beloved Benefit Rollerlash Mascara and so I had it in my head that I should give it a try and see how it fairs as I'm not too keen on forking out over £10 for a mascara. I have never tried a mascara from Maybelline before but I'm hoping that the Lash Sensational Mascara will give my run down, non-existent lashes the boost and length they so desperately need.

Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eye Liner | Link
This is a repurchase of mine, although when I ran out of my last one I decided to  trial another and it didn't work out too well for me so I came back to this one. It has the thinnest nib to trace a small flick and get into the lashes and doesn't transfer on my oily lids which is what I love about it. I'm so glad to be reunited with it again. I must have gone through at least 5 or more of these in the last few years. Now if that isn't commitment then I don't know what is.

Tangle Teezer Original in Lilac
Although I have my doubts and problems with the Original Tangle Teezer I couldn't help but purchase another. I have gone through two of these in the space of two years due to the bristles becoming too bent and so stopped working for me. This is quite annoying but it didn't stop me buying another especially when j spotted this beautiful pastel lilac and pink one which I love.

The Bodyshop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser | Link
I have had this little pot of goodness on my wishlist for a while now since it's  release. I had popped into the Bodyshop previously and fell in love with the formula and scent but somehow walked out empty handed. Of course this time I didn't and I now have it proudly stashed within my skincare drawer. I can't wait to give it a whirl as it's been compared to the likes of the Origins GinZing Moisturiser which is one of my all time favourites. I look forward to see how the two compare and perhaps I'll get back to you.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate Moss Nude Lipstick | Link
For those that may not be aware but not so long ago was the release of the Nude Lipsticks from the Rimmel Kate Moss Collection. I absolutely adore the Kate Moss Lipsticks that were available beforehand. I have a handful of them and love them for the staying power and pigmentation. There are a variety of shades from the collection and I went with the shade #45 which is recommended for my neutral skin tone. I can't wait to pop this on my lips.

Maybelline Master Sculpt Contouring Palette | Link
Another slightly new release is this contouring palette. Since hearing about it before it's release via a few blogs I've had it jotted down in my wishlist. This contouring palette is actually available in two shades and I picked up the light/medium one as it's more suitable for my skin tone. Again, I can't wait to try it out.

The Bodyshop Sweet Lemon Shower Gel
I have a thing for shower gels, particularly from the Bodyshop. I just can't fault them, there are many beautiful scents and they always make me feel refreshed. As I walked into the Bodyshop I noticed a sales shelf and there were body butters, scrubs and shower gels reduced. I spotted this Sweet Lemon Shower Gel and instantly fell in love. I was thinking about picking up the scrub to go with but decided against it. The Sweet Lemon scent is incredible and reminds me of lemon curd. Strange but absolutely delish.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer | Link
I ran out of my beloved Nars Creamy Concealer and I couldn't justify £22 on it just yet so opted for my favourite budget concealer. I've repurchased the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer upteen times. It's perfect for covering my acne and scarring. At a little over £4 you really can't go wrong with it. I will forever be repurchasing it, unless it somehow gets discontinued. In which case I would have to stock up beforehand haha.

I'll give you a little heads up. There are buy one get one half price on Maybelline, Rimmel and many other brands in Boots but I'm not entirely sure when it ends. Also, if you're an Advantage Card owner then there is a a chance to win a million Boots points worth £10,000. Doesn't that just sound incredible? All you have to do is download the Boots App on your phone, sign into your account and click on 'My Offers'.

Have you been Boots or Bodyshop hauling lately?

Nu Skin ageLOC Tru Face Essence Ultra | Review

I haven't really thought about using any preventative measures against my skin ageing but I was contacted by a lovely lady from Nu Skin a while ago about trialling the Tru Face Essence Ultra and I couldn't help but feel intrigued.
Nu Skin ageLOC Tru Face Essence Ultra
Nu Skin says 'ageLOC Tru Face Essence Ultra will help you embrace a youthful looking skin. Formulated with Ethocyn, these uniquely formed capsules also incorporate the power of ageLOC, a revolutionary anti-ageing scientific technology, which targets the sources of the visible signs of ageing, such as the loss of skin firmness'

That statement alone sounds quite promising.

But first up let's talk about the packaging. Ahh, it is simply stunning with the frosted glass bottle and iridescent blue screw top lid, although I'd be quite afraid about breaking the bottle, I'm so clumsy. The bottle contains 60 blue capsules which are meant to be used twice a day, both morning and night. Although I slipped up once or twice and decided on just using once a day instead.
Nu Skin ageLOC Tru Face Essence Ultra
The idea is to apply one to two drops from the capsule onto the affected area and the remaining product onto the rest of your face, and neck. I apply it by twisting the end of the capsule and squeezing the oil onto my hand. At the sprite age of 21 I have absolutely no sign of ageing(thank god!) although my eyes get sore and dry sometimes in the winter which isn't a pleasing sight. I applied the whole of the capsule onto my face and neck including the sensitive under eye area. It surprisingly absorbed quite well and really quickly and although it was in an oily form, it smoothed over my skin and didn't feel greasy in the slightest although I did have to wash my hands after applying it as it's quite slippery. Slippery and oily hands are not exactly appealing.

Although I mainly applied it just the once at night I noticed a difference the next morning. My face felt very soft and supple, almost like a newborns skin.  I just could not stop feeling my face. My face felt quite clean too, as opposed to oily which was lovely and surprised me a lot.

I'm sorry  that I can't comment on the anti-ageing benefits of it but I really enjoyed using it and loved that it left my face feeling soft. Unfortunately I wouldn't purchase it again as at £181.50 I just can't justify it, especially when ageing isn't a great concern of mine.

Magazine Freebies | July 2015

Yeah yeah, I've been slacking it here on the blog lately. Being back at working again after maternity leave and looking after Alfie and the house is taking its toll on me and the blog. As soon as I've finished work I can barely find the energy to do anything and I binge watch Pretty Little Liars. It's my latest obsession. How did I not start watching it sooner? Do forgive me, I won't be posting as regularly as I used to. I know there's no need for apologies but I feel the need to.

Anyway my absence is not the topic of this post. In my spare time I like to flick through a good magazine, whether it be Elle or Cosmopolitan but I'd be lying if I said that the freebies included in such magazines didn't persuade me to buy them.

This month has been a pretty good month in terms of magazine freebies. I didn't want to spend too much money on magazines so I stuck to just buying two.
Magazine Freebies July 2015
First up is Elle, inside there was a skincare set of three from The Organic Pharmacy. I am besotted with skincare at the moment and I had never heard of the brand so I thought it was worth giving it a trial. Included in the set is a tiny 5ml sample size of the Double Rose Rejuvenating Face Cream, 10ml of the Rose Facial Cleansing Gel and Antioxidant Lip Balm. I'm looking forward to trying them out and seeing how they work for my skin and lips. I'm particularly excited about trying the Rose Facial Cleansing Gel.

Next is InStyle. It's the first time that I've purchased the magazine, but how could I not when it included a rather generous size of the St Tropez In Shower Tanning Lotion. It's become quite a hit and in some cases a bit of a miss in the beauty community and so I wanted to try it for myself. I haven't fake tanned in so long due to not having the time so I think I will have to try it myself soon and see how it fairs.

Unfortunately those two magazines are the only ones that catched my eye in terms of freebies. I'm hoping next month will be even better.
