Origins Clear Improvement Mask | Review

Origins Clear Improvement Mask
If you have seen my beauty products on trial #1 post(here)then you may know I have been trialling a few new products over the last few weeks including the hugely popular Origins Clear Improvement Mask. It was my first Origins purchase(shock, horror!) but I had to purchase it after so many rave reviews about it and boy am I glad I purchased it.

Origins Clear Improvement Mask is made from white china clay and charcoal. Origins claim that the active charcoal in the mask acts like a magnet to draw out all the impurities and dirt that is lurking suspiciously underneath the surface of the skin and also unclogs the pores. I suffer from acne prone/oily skin so this sounded really appealing to me.

The packaging is just a basic see through squeeze tube which is great, you can control how much of the product you'd like without wasting any of it.

The Origins Clear Improvement Mask is a greyey/blue colour but it has a perfect consistency, it's not too thick but not too slippery or thin so it's easy to apply onto the skin which is what you would expect from a clay based face mask. I only apply a minimal amount of product onto the face and leave it on for a good 10-15 minutes for it to dry.

Origins instructs that you can use it at least once a week or as often as needed, depending on the state or condition that your skin is in. I myself suffer from acne prone/oily skin and I only use it at least once or twice a week. For preparation of the face mask open your pores with a moist warm towel or flannel and layer it onto the skin and rinse well after it's dried.

It dried really quickly on my face which I was impressed with. Most face masks I've tried in the past take at least a good 4-5 minutes before it dried but this dried on the skin within maybe at least 2 minutes. When it has dried onto the face it does feel a little tight but it doesn't feel uncomfortable at all, it just feels natural and it actually feels like it's doing something and getting rid of the yucky stuff under the skin.

It can tend to crack a little if you move your mouth but it doesn't make you feel like your skin will tear. Have you ever had this feeling when you're wearing a mask? Well, I'm sure you know what I mean. Here's a few pictures of me with the Origins Clear Improvement Mask on to give you a good idea of what it looks like on.

I rinse it off with cold water to close the pores then use a flannel to get the remaining product off. After I had rinsed it off I noticed that my face felt much tighter and softer and my god did it feel good, it also felt like a weight had been lifted off my skin, phew, such a good feeling. My face also looked evened out and even though it still had a little bit of redness there it had reduced.

I highly recommend this face mask to anyone suffering from acne prone or oily skin like myself, it works wonders. I must warn you that it does bring those under the surface spots to the surface so prepare yourself.

You can purchase the Origins Clear Improvement Mask from Origins here for £25.
